Supported Applications

The Omega NEMA Type 4X Enviroline® Series (SCE-EL) consists of 304 Stainless Steel enclosures designed to house electrical and electronic controls, instruments, and components. These units are specified for areas that may be regularly hosed down or located in very wet conditions. The series provides protection from dust, dirt, oil, and water.

For outdoor applications, a drip shield is recommended. While the primary construction utilizes 0.075" Stainless Steel Type 304, panels can be special ordered in stainless steel up to size 48P36.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The SCE-EL series meets rigorous environmental protection standards with the following ratings:

• NEMA Ratings: Type 4, 4X, 12 & 13
• UL Listed: Type 4, 4X & 12
• CSA Certified: Type 4, 4X & 12
• IEC Rating: IP 66 (per IEC 60529)

The enclosure body is constructed from 0.075" Stainless Steel Type 304. The series carries a 1 Year Warranty and is Made in USA.

Configuration Options

The SCE-EL series offers a broad range of dimensions to accommodate various internal component layouts. Available configurations span the following overall envelope:

• Height (A): 12.00 to 72.00 inches
• Width (B): 12.00 to 36.00 inches
• Depth (C): 6.00 to 16.00 inches

Note that dimensions are measured from the inside of the door for sub-panels.

Latching and Hardware Configuration

The number of latches required varies by enclosure height and width:

• Enclosures > 609.4 (24) in height require only one latch centered on the door.
• Enclosures ≥ 609.4 (24) and < 1016 (40) in height require two latches on the door.
• Enclosures ≥ 1016 (40) require three latches on the door.
• Doors ≥ 508 (20) in width require an additional latch centered top and bottom in the door.

Latches are opened or closed with a screwdriver. Optional accessories include tamper-resistant inserts for latches, mounting feet, and available door hardware.

Model variations are distinguished by their dimensional codes embedded in the SKU (e.g., SCE-72EL3616SSLP indicates a 72-inch high unit). The series includes standard configurations as well as special order options for larger panel sizes up to 48P36.
