Supported Applications

The Omega SCE-CH Series NEMA Type 4 Continuous Hinge Enclosures are designed for use as electrical junction boxes, terminal wiring boxes, instrument housings, and electrical control enclosures. These units provide protection from dust, dirt, oil, and water, making them suitable for indoor or outdoor installations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is constructed from 0.075" Carbon Steel with continuously welded and ground smooth seams that feature no holes or knockouts. The enclosure finish consists of ANSI-61 gray powder coating on both the interior and exterior; optional panels are powder coated white.

Performance ratings include:

• NEMA Type 4, 12, and 13
• UL Listed Type 4 and 12
• CSA Type 4 and 12
• IEC 60529 IP 66

The series includes a continuous hinge, external screw clamps, an oil-resistant gasket, standoffs for mounting optional panels, and a ground stud on the door.

Clamping Requirements

• Enclosures < 254 (10) in height require one clamp centered vertically on the door.

Configuration Options

The SCE-CH series offers a range of dimensions from 4 x 4 to 16 x 14 inches. Model numbers follow the format SCE-<HEIGHT>CH - <WIDTH>CH - <DEPTH>CH (example: SCE-1210CH). Available configurations include various heights, widths, and depths as detailed in the specification grid.

The series supports optional sub-panels which must be ordered separately. Specific model numbers ending in 'S' indicate units hinged on the 'B' dimension.
