Supported Applications

The Omega DPGM409S series is a Metric, Sanitary, High Accuracy Digital Pressure Gauge designed for sanitary and clean-in-place (CIP) applications. The rugged enclosure meets the requirements of 3-A Sanitary Standards and utilizes food-grade fill fluid (NEOBEE M5 Food Grade). Models are configured to measure gauge pressure, absolute pressure, sealed gauge, compound gauge, vacuum, and barometric conditions.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series delivers a typical accuracy of ±0.08% Best Straight Line (Linearity, Hysteresis and Repeatability combined). Zero balance is specified as ±0.5% FS typical with a maximum of ±1% for ranges ≤170 mb; for ranges >170 mb, zero balance is ±1% Typical with a maximum of ±2%. Span setting follows the same tolerance structure: ±0.5% FS typical (±1% max) for ranges ≤170 mb and ±1% Typical (±2% max) for ranges >170 mb.

Operating temperature is rated from -15 to 115°C (-5 to 240°F). The compensated temperature range varies by pressure span: Ranges ≤350 mb are compensated from 4.4 to 60°C (40 to 140°F), while ranges >350 mb are compensated from -4 to 85°C (25 to 150°F). The enclosure carries a NEMA 4X (IP65) rating depending upon electrical termination.

Pressure ratings for the 1½" and 2" Tri-Grip™ fitting (compatible with Tri-Clamp®) are rated at 40 bar using a suitable clamp. Overpressure capability is listed as 4 x rated pressure to maximum rated flange pressure, while secondary containment withstands 6 x rated pressure to a maximum of 138 bar (not in clamp). The device includes a 5-Point NIST Traceable Calibration Certificate and meets industrial emissions and immunity standard IEC61326 for industrial locations.

Configuration Options

The DPGM409S series offers extensive configuration options across measurement types, process connections, outputs, and wireless capabilities. Key configurable dimensions include:

  • Measurement Types & Ranges: Available in Gauge (e.g., 0 to 35 mbar up to 0 to 40 bar), Absolute (e.g., 0 to 1 bar up to 0 to 40 bar), Vacuum/Negative Gage (e.g., 0 to -25 mbar up to 0 to -1 bar), Compound Gauge (±25 mbar to ±1 bar), and Barometric (0 to 1100 hPa, 550 to 1100 hPa, 880 to 1100 hPa).
  • Process Connections: Sanitary fittings are available in 1.5 inch or 2.0 inch Tri-Grip™ (compatible with Tri-Clamp®). The fitting size is indicated by the model number suffix: "15" for 1.5 inch and "20" for 2.0 inch.
  • Output Signals: Standard analog output is user-selectable via software as 0 to 5 Vdc, 0 to 10 Vdc, or 4 to 20 mA (external 24 Vdc power required). A wireless transmitter option (-W suffix) enables remote monitoring with ISM 2.4 GHz transmission.
  • Display & Interface: Features a 4-digit LCD with user-selectable backlighting and 25 mm (1") character height. Setup is performed via USB connection using included software; front panel functions include Min/Max recall, Zero/Clear, and Backlight control.
  • Power Supply: Operates on one 3.6V lithium battery (8.4 Ah capacity C cell) with a typical life of up to 4 years. Wireless models require two batteries. Replacement part number is BATT-C-3.6V.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes itself through specific model codes and optional features:

  • Fitting Size Designation: The "[*]" in the model number DPGM409S[*]- indicates the sanitary fitting size: insert "15" for 1.5 inch Tri-Grip™ or "20" for 2 inch Tri-Grip™.
  • Analog Output Selection: Specify analog output signal via suffix codes appended to the model number (no extra charge): "V1" for 0 to 5 Vdc, "V2" for 0 to 10 Vdc, or "MA" for 4 to 20 mA.
  • Wireless Option: Appending a "-W" suffix indicates the wireless version. This option includes data logging and graphing software and requires specific receivers (UWTC-REC1, UWTC-REC2-(**), or UWTC-REC2-D(**)).
