Supported Applications

The Omega FTB300 Series Low Flow Indicating Paddlewheel Flow Meter is designed for low flow rate applications involving clean liquids. The series utilizes infrared light beam technology to measure bi-directional flows in either vertical or horizontal mounting orientations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The FTB300 Series offers six distinct measurement ranges spanning from 30 mL/min (0.03 L/min) up to 7,000 mL/min (7 L/min). Full scale accuracy is specified as ±6% FS. The meter operates with a maximum fluid temperature of 200°F (93°C) at 0 PSI and supports a maximum working pressure of 150 psig (10 bar) @ 70°F (21°C).

Power requirements vary by configuration: models with displays are prewired for 120 Vac, while sensor-only options operate on 9 - 28 VDC. The enclosure is rated NEMA type 4X (IP56). Output frequency ranges from 4 to 500Hz.

Measurement Ranges

  • 30 to 300 ml/min (0.03 to 0.3 L/min)
  • 100 to 1,000 ml/min (0.1 to 1 L/min)
  • 200 to 2,000 ml/min (0.2 to 2 L/min)
  • 300 to 3,000 ml/min (0.3 to 3 L/min)
  • 500 to 5,000 ml/min (0.5 to 5 L/min)
  • 700 to 7,000 ml/min (0.7 to 7 L/min)

Configuration Options

The series is configurable across multiple dimensions including process connections, display options, and output signals.

Process Connections & Materials

The wetted materials include PVDF for the body, paddle, axle, tubing connectors, viewing lens, and compression seals. O-ring seals are available in FKM or EPDM (add suffix “-EPDM” to model number). Available process connections include:

  • 1/8" FNPT
  • ¼" FNPT
  • ⅜" OD Tube
  • Tubing adapters: 3/8" OD x 1/4" ID and 1/4" OD x .170 ID (PVDF)
  • Hose barb and NPT adapters available in PVC

Display & Output Options

The series supports three primary configurations:
  • Sensor mounted display: Features a six-digit LCD for flow rate and total. Pre-programmed calibration K-factors are factory set, with custom field calibration available.
  • Panel mounted display (Option FP): Includes a 6' cable; the sensor is separate from the enclosure.
  • Sensor only (Option FV): No display. Provides a 5 Vdc current sinking output via a 3-wire shielded cable, 1.8 m (6').

All units include an open collector alarm output rated for 30 Vdc maximum with a 50mA max load.

Key Product Differences

The FTB300 Series distinguishes models by connection type and flow range. Model numbers follow the pattern of Sensor Type, Connection Code, and Range Code (e.g., FTB311 for ⅛ FNPT in the lowest range; FTB336D for ⅜" OD Tube with display). Models ending in "D" include a sensor-mounted or panel-mounted LCD display. Suffixes such as “-EU” indicate European style power supply (220V50Hz), and “-230V” indicates US 230V 60 Hz power supply.

Dimensions for the enclosure are approximately 5.00 in [127 mm] length, 2.22 in [56.26 mm] width, and 3.51 in [89.03 mm] height. The approximate shipping weight is 1 lb (.45 kg).
