Supported Applications

The BV2000 brass-body Vision Turbine Meters provide low-cost flow measurement of low-viscosity, aggressive, and non-aggressive liquids. They comply with the lead-free provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act and are certified to NSF/ANSI Standards 61 and 372, making them suitable for food, medical, chemical/pharma, industrial, and automotive applications.

Typical media include demineralized water, alkaline solutions, oils, salad oil, fuel and fuel consumption metering, beverages, water solutions, and coolants. The brass body uses Brass CuZn38Al-C (which complies with the lead-free provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act), with wetted components in PA12 Trogamid, PA12 Ferrite, and Graphite/PTFE. The meters also carry KTW and W270 approval for drinking water, use FDA approved materials, and meet 21 CFR 175.300.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Accuracy is ± 3% of reading with repeatability of < 0.50 % under the same operating conditions. The meters handle liquids of up to 16 cSt viscosity and operate over a temperature range of -20...100° C. Operating pressure is 25 bar and burst pressure is 200 bar. A filter of 20...40 microns is recommended upstream, and response is fast owing to the small turbine mass.

The output is an NPN sinking open collector rated at Max. 20 mA (pull-up resistor required), powered from 5...24V DC with power consumption of ~8 mA. Electrical connection is via a round cable, 3 x AWG 24, with free cable ends or a 3-pin (2.8 x 0.5) mini DIN connector to EN 60529 (mating connector included). Process connections are offered as 1/4 in. NPT or G 1/4 in. (BSPP), 3/8 in. NPT or G 3/8 in. (BSPP), and 3/4 in. NPT or G 3/4 in. (BSPP), and K-factors reach up to 22,000 ppl depending on model.

Configuration Options

All variants in this brass-body group share the same measurement platform — ± 3% of reading accuracy, 25 bar operating pressure, and NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 certification — and differ only in the material build, flow range, and electrical connection encoded in the part number. The BRG and BRN designators identify the wetted-material build of the brass body, while the trailing A or B suffix selects the electrical connection: free cable ends (round cable, 3 x AWG 24) or the 3-pin mini DIN connector.

Two flow-range sizes are offered, identified by the 080 and 250 numeric codes. Both cover the low-viscosity liquid service described above, with the smaller bore favoring lower flows and higher pulse resolution and the larger bore favoring higher throughput.

Key Product Differences

The brass-body series comprises the following ordering variants:

  • BRG, flow code 080: BV2000BRG080A, BV2000BRG080B
  • BRG, flow code 250: BV2000BRG250A, BV2000BRG250B
  • BRN, flow code 080: BV2000BRN080A, BV2000BRN080B
  • BRN, flow code 250: BV2000BRN250A, BV2000BRN250B

The A and B suffixes within each pair select the free-cable-end or mini DIN electrical connection while keeping the same brass body, flow range, and certified materials.
