Supported Applications

The Omega NBCAXL/NNXL series comprises High Temperature Low Drift Thermocouple Industrial Head Probes designed for temperature measurement in demanding environments. These mineral insulated (MI) probes are engineered to resist carburization, oxidation, and chlorination while maintaining performance at extremely small diameters.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series supports a maximum operating process temperature of up to 1335°C (2400°F). Probes meet or exceed Special Limits of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2 Tolerance Class 1. Long-term stability is documented with less than 2.8°C drift in 25 weeks; specific configurations can withstand 815°C (1500°F) for 3 years in a 0.8 mm probe.

Configuration Options

The series offers extensive configuration options across sensor types, sheath materials, dimensions, and housing styles to accommodate diverse installation requirements.

  • Sensor Types: Type K (CHROMEGA®-ALOMEGA®) and Type N (OMEGA-P®-OMEGA-N®).
  • Sheath Materials: CHROMEGA®-ALOMEGA® XL Sheath or OMEGA-P®-OMEGA-N® XL Sheath.
  • Housing Styles: Molded standard connector, miniature connector, heavy-duty transition junction probe, industrial head probe (NB1-style), and utility handle probe.
  • Diameters: Available in imperial sizes from 0.010" to 3/8", including 1/16", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", and 5/16"; metric sizes range from 0.25 mm to 9.5 mm, including 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, 4.5 mm, 6.0 mm, and 8.0 mm.
  • Lengths: Overall lengths include 6", 12", 18", 24" (and up to 36" for select variants), as well as metric options of 150 mm, 300 mm, 450 mm, and 600 mm.
  • Junction Types: Grounded or ungrounded junctions are available depending on the model configuration.
