Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series TSS2 is an electronic temperature controller designed for ON/OFF control or Neutral Area Control. It features two independent sensor inputs and dual output relays, enabling the unit to control cooling, heating, or both simultaneously by configuring relays for direct or reverse operation. Documented applications include refrigerators, chillers, food service equipment, and medical sterilizers.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series TSS2 operates with an ambient temperature range of 32 to 158°F (0 to 70°C) and a storage temperature range of -4 to 176°F (-20 to 80°C). The device provides measurement accuracy of ±1% FS. Resolution is specified as 0.1° for readings below 100° and 1° for readings ≥100°. Measurement ranges depend on the probe type: PTC probes support -58 to 302°F (-50 to 150°C), while NTC probes support -58 to 230°F (-50 to 110°C). The unit features a red LED display with nonvolatile memory backup and an IP64 front panel rating.
Configuration Options
The series supports configurable power supplies, output configurations, and sensor types. Key capabilities include:
- Sensor Inputs: Configurable for 1 or 2 probes (PTC or NTC) via parameter P5.
- Outputs: Two SPDT relays; OUT1 rated at 16A @ 240 VAC resistive, and OUT2 rated at 8A @ 240 VAC resistive. An alarm buzzer is also included.
- Power Supply Options: Available in 115 VAC, 230 VAC, 12 VAC/VDC, or 24 VAC/VDC depending on the model code.
- User Configuration: Programmable via a silicone front keypad with password protection. Users can adjust 34 parameters including set points (SP1, SP2), hysteresis, alarm configuration, and probe adjustment.
- Housing & Mounting: Panel mount design requiring a cutout of 71 x 29 mm (2.80 x 1.14 inches). Overall dimensions are 3 x 1-27/64 x 2-7/16 in.

Key Product Differences
The Series TSS2 is offered with specific model codes that define the supply voltage, display units (°F or °C), and output configuration. The standard model number format follows TSS2 - <OUTPUTS> - <SUPPLY VOLTAGE> - <DISPLAY COLOR> - <UNITS>. Available variants include:
- 115 VAC Models: TSS2-2100 (°F) and TSS2-2110 (°C).
- 230 VAC Models: TSS2-2210 (°C); note that the model chart lists 230 VAC with °C, while other unit combinations may be configurable.
- Low Voltage DC/AC Models: TSS2-2300 and TSS2-2400 for 12 VAC/VDC or 24 VAC/VDC respectively (°F).
The unit is designed to be mounted away from vibration, impacts, water, and corrosive gases. Wiring terminals are designated as 1–3 for probe inputs and 4–11 for power supply and outputs.
