Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series TSXT Digital Temperature Switch is designed for refrigeration applications. It accepts up to three temperature inputs from PTC or NTC probes and can control the compressor, defrost cycle, fan, alarm, and light within a refrigeration system. The series supports master/slave configurations to synchronize defrost cycles between different units.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series TSXT operates with an ambient temperature range of 32 to 131°F (0 to 55°C) and a storage temperature range of -4 to 176°F (-20 to 80°C). Measurement ranges depend on the sensor type: PTC probes cover -58 to 302°F (-50 to 150°C), while NTC probes cover -58 to 230°F (-50 to 110°C). The device provides an accuracy of ±1% FS with a resolution of 0.1°. It features nonvolatile memory backup and carries CE and cURus approvals.
Configuration Options
The series is configurable across supply power, output count, and sensor input types to meet specific installation needs.
- Supply Power: Models are available for 115 VAC, 230 VAC, 12 VAC/VDC, or 24 VAC/VDC. Power consumption is 3.6 VA @ 115/230 VAC and 1.5 VA @ 12/24 VAC/VDC.
- Relay Outputs: Units are offered with 1, 2, or 3 SPST relay outputs.
- Relay 1: Rated 16 A @ 240 VAC resistive, 10 FLA, 60 LRA (1 HP).
- Relay 2: Rated 5 A @ 240 VAC resistive.
- Relay 3: Rated 8 A @ 240 VAC resistive.
- Sensor Inputs: Accepts PTC (1000 Ω @ 25°C) or NTC (10 kΩ @ 25°C) thermistors. Hysteresis is configurable from 0.1 to 20 Degrees.
- Housing & Mounting: The unit features an IP65 front panel rating and requires a cutout of 2.80 x 1.14 inches (71 x 29 mm). Overall dimensions are 3.110 in [79.0] width, 1.440 in [36.5] height, with depths varying by voltage class.
- Programming & Features: Configuration is performed via the front keypad or TS2-K programming key. Standard features include capacitive buttons, a real-time clock, HACCP alarm logging, temperature alarms, and password-protected settings.
Key Product Differences
The Series TSXT model numbers follow the format TSXT-<Supply Power>-<Number of Outputs>. The second digit indicates supply power (1 for 115 VAC, 2 for 230 VAC, 3 for 12 VAC/VDC, and 4 for 24 VAC/VDC), while the third digit denotes the number of relay outputs (1, 2, or 3). For example, TSXT-211 is a 1-output model powered by 115 VAC, whereas TSXT-243 provides three relays on a 24 VAC/VDC supply. Weight varies by voltage class: 7.2 oz (204 g) for 115 and 230 V models, and 4.8 oz (136 g) for 12 and 24 V models.
