Supported Applications

The Omega TCCTL Series consists of cut-to-length thermocouple probes designed for field-adaptable temperature measurement applications. These immersion probes are engineered to be trimmed on-site using a tubing cutter, with a minimum required length of 76 mm (3"). The series supports all base metal thermocouple calibrations: Types J, K, T, E, and N.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The TCCTL probes feature a sheath constructed from 300 Series Stainless Steel. Standard probe length is 600 mm (24"). Maximum operating temperatures depend on the cable insulation type selected:

  • Type TT Leads: 260°C (500°F)
  • Type GG Leads: 482°C (900°F)
  • Type HH Leads: 540°C (1000°F)

Sheath diameters are available in standard sizes of 6 mm (¼") and 3/16". Note that Type "HH" cable is not available with Type T or Type E thermocouples.

Configuration Options

The series offers extensive configuration options for mounting, termination, and sensor geometry to accommodate specific installation requirements.

Cable Insulation & Temperature Ratings

  • PFA insulated cable (Type TT)
  • Fiberglass insulated cable rated 482°C (900°F) by changing "TT" to "GG" in the model number at no additional cost.
  • Fiberglass insulated cable rated 540°C (1000°F) by changing "TT" to "HH" for an additional cost.

Tip Configuration & Elements

  • Ungrounded tip: Standard configuration indicated by "U" in the model number.
  • Grounded tip: Available at no additional cost by changing "U" to "G" in the model number.
  • Dual element options are available for specific configurations (e.g., TCCTL-J-14U-24-40-TT-DUAL).

Connectors & Mounting

  • Add a standard sized connector by adding "-OSTW" to the model number for additional cost.
  • Add a miniature connector by adding "-SMPW" to the model number for additional cost.
  • Stainless steel and brass compression fittings are available for mounting (see "SSLK or BRLK" fittings).

Key Product Differences

The TCCTL series is defined by a modular model numbering system: TCCTL-----. For example, the part number TCCTL-K-6U-600-1-TT denotes a Type K cut-to-length thermocouple with a 6 mm (¼") diameter sheath, 600 mm (24") probe length, and PFA insulated cable 1 m (40") long. Variations in the model number directly correspond to changes in thermocouple type, sheath size, insulation rating, tip grounding status, or connector presence.
