Supported Applications
The AQM-102 is a Carbon Dioxide Monitor and Data Logger that measures CO₂ concentration, air temperature, and relative humidity in a single handheld instrument. Built around a stable NDIR sensor for CO₂ detection, it is intended for indoor air quality (IAQ) diagnosis and for HVAC system performance verification.
A large LCD display presents readings alongside six smiley icons that indicate indoor air quality levels at a glance, while visible and audible alarms flag out-of-range conditions. Onboard data logging lets the unit record trends over time for later review through its USB interface.
Typical uses include:
- Verifying ventilation and air exchange in occupied spaces.
- Diagnosing stuffy or poorly ventilated rooms where CO₂ can accumulate.
- Commissioning and troubleshooting HVAC systems.
Note: Do not hold the meter close to your mouth or any other source of CO₂. The instrument carries the CE mark.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The AQM-102 measures three parameters across the following ranges:
- CO₂: 0 to 9999 ppm, with a resolution of 1 ppm.
- Temperature: -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F), with a resolution of 0.1°C (0.1°F).
- Relative Humidity: 0 to 100% RH.
CO₂ accuracy is ±30 ppm, ±3% of reading, temperature accuracy is ±1.2°C (2.2°F), and relative humidity accuracy is ±3% RH at 25°C from 10 to 90 RH, easing to ±5% RH beyond that band. The CO₂ reading updates in 10 sec and the RH reading in 2 sec.
The monitor operates from 0 to 50°C at less than 80% RH and can be stored at -40 to 70°C (-40 to 158°F). It runs on a universal adapter (100 to 240 VAC, 50 to 60 Hz) or on 4 "AAA" batteries, and stores up to 32,000 readings in memory.
Configuration Options
The AQM-102 is a single-configuration instrument rather than a family of differing sensors, so its capabilities are defined by its onboard feature set rather than by model-to-model spec changes. Beyond the three directly measured parameters, the unit derives and displays additional values, including dew point temperature and wet bulb temperature.
Air-quality assessment features include TWA and STEL exposure calculations and ventilation-rate reporting, together with the six-icon IAQ indicator and the visible/audible alarm. To help interpret readings, the documentation provides non-enforced reference levels - for example 250 to 350 ppm as a background outdoor level and 350 to 1000 ppm as a typical level in occupied spaces with good air exchange.
Key Product Differences
The model number follows the guide AQM-102 - <MODEL> - <OPTIONAL ACCESSORY>. The core catalogue is short:
- AQM-102 - the CO₂, RH and temperature monitor and data logger itself.
- AQM-100-PW - the optional AC adaptor.
Each AQM-102 comes complete with 4 "AAA" batteries, a USB cable, the operator's manual, an AC adaptor and a software CD. The instrument measures 110 H x 108 W x 28 mm D (4.33 x 4.25 x 1.10") and weighs 165 g (5.8 oz), making it easy to carry between spaces during a survey.
