Supported Applications

The Omega FTB370 Series comprises brass turbine flow meters designed for volume flow recognition and fluid dosing of water and many water-based liquids. The series is explicitly not suitable for gas measurements or oils, as the plastic components used in the sensor housing are incompatible with oil media.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The FTB370 Series operates within a process temperature of 85°C (185°F) at 0.689 bar (10 psi). The pressure rating is specified as 9.997 bar (145 psi) at 29.4°C (85°F). Accuracy for the series is ±3% of reading with a repeatability of ±0.5%. To ensure precise measurement, installation requires a straight inlet tube of minimum 10 x ID and an outlet tube of 5 x ID; the internal diameter of connecting tubes must match the sensor's internal diameter.

Configuration Options

The series is available in three distinct models, each defined by fitting size and corresponding flow range:

  • FTB371: ¾" NPT connection; Range: 1.9 to 39.4 LPM (0.5 to 10.4 GPM)
  • FTB372: 1" NPT connection; Range: 4.2 to 158 LPM (1.1 to 41.6 GPM)
  • FTB373: 1½" NPT connection; Range: 50 to 416 LPM (13.2 to 110 GPM)

All models feature an integral cable length of 1.5 m (5') and output a flow-proportional frequency signal via an open collector, NPN-switching interface powered by 5 to 24 Vdc (maximum 20 mA). The DPF701 accessory is available as a 6-digit rate or total display.

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between models is the process connection size and resulting flow range. The FTB371 utilizes a ¾" NPT fitting with dimensions of Length 90 mm (3.5 in), Diameter 38 mm (1.5 in), and Height 58 mm (2.3 in). The FTB372 features a 1" NPT connection, measuring Length 203 mm (8.0 in), Diameter 51 mm (2.0 in), and Height 89 mm (3.5 in). The largest variant, the FTB373, uses a 1½" NPT fitting with dimensions of Length 292 mm (11.5 in), Diameter 76 mm (3.0 in), and Height 89 mm (3.5 in).

Shaft material varies by model to accommodate different flow dynamics: Arcap AP1D for the FTB371, 316 SS for the FTB372, and SS904L for the FTB373.
