Supported Applications
The Omega AS-070 Series is a piezo-electric acceleration sensor with an integrated charge amplifier designed for vibration measurement. The series measures oscillatory acceleration and requires friction-locked, contact-resonance free, and secure attachment to the measurement object.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The AS-070 operates within a temperature range of - 50 °C ... + 120 °C. The measuring range is ± 50 g peak at standard conditions, reducing to ± 30 g peak above +100 °C. Frequency response spans 1.3 ... 4 000 Hz (± 0.5 dB) and extends to 0.32 ... 10 000 Hz (± 3 dB). The sensor exhibits a linearity deviation of ≤ 1 % with transverse sensitivity at 80 Hz limited to ≤ 7 %. Resonance frequency is greater than 25 kHz.
Performance characteristics include noise density values of 100 µg/√Hz at 1 Hz and 3 µg/√Hz > 100 Hz. The settling time is less than 10 sec, with a temperature sensitivity below 0.2 % K. Strain sensitivity remains under 0.02 g / (µm/m), while magnetic field sensitivity is less than 0.005 g/mT.
Configuration Options
The series features a stainless steel 1.4301 housing with an IP 67 protection class. The unit measures 34 mm (height) x 8 mm (width) x 18 mm (depth), including a 12 mm protrusion, and weighs approximately 80 g.
Key configuration details include:
- Sensor Type: Piezo-electric acceleration sensor with integrated charge amplifier
- Output Signal: Transmission factor of 100 mV/g ± 20 % or 10.2 mV/m/s² ± 20 %
- Power Supply: + 24 V (+ 18 V...+ 28 V) with a constant current supply IB of 4 mA (range: 2 mA ... 10 mA)
- Cable Assembly: 10 m length with pig-tails, featuring 2-conductor stranded + shield construction. Conductor cross-section area is 0.14 mm² (7 x 0.16 mm) with ETFE external insulation and a black outer jacket.
- Cable Dimensions: Outside diameter of 3.3 mm (± 0.15 mm); cable exit is lateral, alternatively available with stainless steel protective conduit Ø 6 mm
- Conductor Layout: RD (SIG), WH (GND/0V)
- Mounting: Requires two M4 x 16 DIN 912 Allen screws; mounting hole is 5 mm diameter, located 24 mm from base
- Ratings: Shock rating of 5000 g (all directions); overload capacity includes fall from 1.5 m on concrete without damage
- Electrical Characteristics: Output impedance ≤ 100 Ω; open-circuit potential + 8 V ... +12 V; insulation resistance ≥ 20 MΩ at housing supply voltage 0 V
- EMC Compliance: Meets Directive 2004/108/EC for electromagnetic compatibility, tested per EN 61326-1 with reduced requirements to criterion B for EN 61000-4-3 and EN 61000-4-6
- Storage: -20 °C ... + 70 °C in original packaging
Key Product Differences
The AS-070/001 model represents the primary configuration within this series. The sensor is supplied with a connecting cable but excludes mounting screws, which must be provided separately.
