Supported Applications

The Omega RPM Series consists of miniature parallel pneumatic grippers designed for manifold mounting and small part handling. These units feature preloaded V roller bearings to eliminate side play, ensuring excellent part positioning in compact spaces.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates on a dry filtered air supply (40 micron or better) within a pressure range of 3 to 7 bar (40 to 100 psi). A 4-way, 2-position valve and regulator are required for actuation. Ambient temperature limits depend on the seal material: -35 to 80°C (-30 to 180°F) with standard seals or -30 to 120°C (-20 to 250°F) with FKM seals.

Performance specifications across the series include:

• Total Rated Grip Force: 36 N (8 lb) at 7 bar (100 psi)
• Accuracy: ±0.05 mm (±0.002")
• Repeatability: ±0.03 mm (±0.001")
• Actuation Time: 0.10 sec
• Cycle Life: Up to 5 million cycles in typical operation; up to 10 million with maintenance

Loading capacities per set of jaws (not simultaneous) are defined for static and dynamic conditions, including maximum tensile/compressive loads of 89 N (20 lbs) / 31 N (7 lbs) respectively.

Configuration Options

The RPM Series is offered in three model configurations—RPM-1M, RPM-2M, and RPM-3M—distinguished primarily by stroke length and overall dimensions. All models share a one-piece lightweight aluminum body construction and a 10 mm (0.394") cylinder bore.

Available options include:

• SLKT-121: Standard seal repair kit
• SLKT-142V: Top air port manifold seal kit (FKM only)

The compact design allows multiple grippers to be grouped in close array using top manifold mounting. Tooling and fingers are customer-supplied.
