Supported Applications
The Omega LCMHD series comprises metric, ultra-low-profile pancake-style load cells designed for tension and compression applications. These units are calibrated in tension with capacities ranging from 5 to 500,000 lb (2.5 to 10,000 kgf). The heavy-duty design features all stainless steel construction and includes a mating connector as standard equipment.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -54 to 121°C (-65 to 250°F), with a compensated temperature range of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Excitation is specified at 10 Vdc (15 V max) for standard models. Performance specifications vary by capacity: units ≤25 lb/10 kgf exhibit linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability of ±0.20% FSO, ±0.10% FSO, and ±0.1% FSO respectively; units ≥50 lb/20 kgf achieve ±0.10% FSO for linearity, ±0.08% FSO for hysteresis, and ±0.03% FSO for repeatability.
Thermal effects are rated at 0.0036% FSO/°C for both zero and span. The series supports a safe overload of 150% of capacity and an ultimate overload of 300% of capacity. Input and output resistance is specified as 350 ±10 Ω, with full-scale deflection typically between 0.025 to 0.076 mm (0.001 to 0.003").
Configuration Options
The LCMHD series offers a broad envelope of configurations including standard metric models, tension plates for specific ranges, and optional suffixes for specialized performance.
- Housing & Materials: Constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel. Dimensions vary by capacity; overall height (H) ranges from 20 to 108 mm (0.80 to 4.25 in), and diameter (D) spans 64 to 356 mm (2.5 to 14 in).
- Electrical Connections: Units ≤5000 lb/2000 kgf utilize a DT02H-10-6P connector with an included PT06F-10-6S mating connector. Units >5000 lb/2500 kgf use MS3102E-14S-6P (or equivalent) with an included MS3102E-14S-6S mating connector.
- Output Signals: Standard output is 2 mV/V ±0.25% for ≤25 lb/10 kgf and 3 mV/V ±0.25% for ≥50 lb/20 kgf. A 5 Vdc bi-directional (±5 Vdc) option is available with the ".5T" suffix.
- Special Options: Available configurations include Overload Stops (.OL), Dual Bridge (.DUAL), Extended Temperature Range (.TC1, .TC2), and TEDS IEEE 1451.4 module (.TEDS).
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between standard metric models (LCMHD) and tension plate accessories for specific capacity ranges. Tension plates are designated by model numbers such as LCHD-TP200 through LCHD-TP775, covering capacities from 5 to 100,000 lb.
Electrical connector types differ based on load rating: the PT06F series is specified for units up to 5000 lb/2000 kgf, while MS3102E connectors are used for capacities exceeding this threshold. Extended temperature options (.TC1 and .TC2) provide operation between -45 to 93°C (-50 to 200°F) or up to 163°C (325°F), distinct from the standard operating range.
