Supported Applications

The Omega EHR Series consists of silicone rubber enclosure heaters designed to provide protection for enclosures against condensation, humidity, and freezing. These rectangular-shaped wire-wound heaters are vulcanized to an aluminum mounting plate with mounting holes, facilitating easy installation and safe operation within various enclosure types.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The EHR Series operates at a standard voltage of 120V, though custom voltages are available upon request. The heaters feature 1.2 m (48") PTFE leads and include a 13 mm (½") mounting flange. They are designed to operate safely with no exposed electrical connections.

Wattage selection depends on the enclosure insulation status and temperature differential requirements, as detailed in the Insulated Enclosure Wattage Selection Table and Uninsulated Enclosure Wattage Selection Table provided in the series documentation. These tables correlate Δ Temperature °C (°F) with required wattage across various dimensions.

Configuration Options

The EHR Series offers a range of configurations defined by physical dimensions, power ratings, and thermostat integration:

• Dimensions: Widths include 64 (2½) mm and 114 (4½) mm. Lengths vary from 127 (5) mm to 305 (12) mm.
• Power Ratings: Available wattages range from 25W up to 250W, depending on the model and voltage configuration.
• Voltage Options: Standard models are rated for 120V. Specific variants support 12V, 24V, 230V, and 240V as documented in the model specifications table.
• Integrated Thermostats: Models can be configured with or without an integrated thermostat. When included, thermostats feature specific open/close settings such as opening at 16 (60)°C/°F and closing at 4 (40)°C/°F, or other combinations like 82 (180)/66 (150).
• Mounting: A mounting slot size of 6 x 4 mm (¼ x ⅜") is provided. Note that dimensions listed are for the heater and bracket; actual heater width is 12.7 mm (½") less.

Additional options include custom design, alternate thermostat settings, and remote thermostats from the EHA Series available with PSA or D-ring and strap mounting configurations.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series differ primarily by physical size (width/length), wattage output, voltage rating, and the presence of an integrated thermostat. For example, model EHR00018 provides 250W at 120V without a thermostat, while EHR00044 offers 250W at 240V with a thermostat set to open at 60 (140)°C/°F and close at 43 (110)°C/°F. Remote thermostats in the EHA Series offer distinct temperature settings, such as PSA models opening at 60±5°F or D-ring and Strap models opening at 140±5°F.
