Supported Applications

The OMYL-RH25 is a portable temperature/humidity data logger with 2 external inputs, built around integral temperature and humidity sensors and a rugged, shock-proof POM housing. It is designed for battery-powered data acquisition wherever conditions must be recorded over time without a permanent power or communication connection.

The logger and its external probes are suited to air, non-corrosive gases and non-conductive liquids. Typical measurement scenarios include:

• Combined internal temperature and humidity logging in stores, transport and controlled environments.
• External temperature measurement with Pt100 or Pt1000 RTD or U thermistor probes for process, air and surface points.
• External temperature/humidity logging using combined probes across the full 0 to 100% RH range.
• Surface temperature measurement using clip-on and magnetic Pt1000 RTD probes such as the OMYL-EU80-2 and OMYL-EUM80-2.
• Fast-response air temperature measurement with probes such as the OMYL-FR80-2.
• Building-diagnostic work, including wall saturation and boundary-level assessment with the OMYL-RHTO-2 and measurement in walls or confined spaces with the OMYL-RHTW-2.
• Detection of incipient moisture and condensation with the OMYL-SHS-A-2 condensation sensor.

Configuration, download and analysis are handled over the included USB interface using OmegaView software for Windows. These products are not designed for use in, and should not be used for, human applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The logger stores up to 4 million readings with a 20-bit A/D converter and a fast sampling rate up to 4 Hz. Reading rate is configurable from one reading per second up to 24 hours, with 2 Hz and 4 Hz available in fast mode.

Internal temperature operating range depends on the fitted battery:

• -30 to 70°C (-22 to 158°F) with the standard lithium battery.
• -40 to 90°C (-40 to 194°F) with the optional high temperature lithium battery.

External temperature inputs cover -70 to 250°C (-94 to 482°F), while internal and external humidity sensors span 0 to 100% RH. Condensation sensors operate over 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F). Temperature resolution is 0.01°C (0.02°F) for both internal and external channels, and humidity resolution is 0.01% RH.

The external temperature input accepts a Pt100 or Pt1000 RTD, or a U thermistor rated 2000Ω @ 25°C. The housing carries an IP65 rating and is shock proof, and the unit is CE marked and backed by a 1 year warranty. Power comes from a user-replaceable 3V lithium battery.

The compact head measures 30 H x 50 mm dia (1.18 x 1.97") with an integral probe of 4 mm dia (0.16") and weighs 70 g (2.5 oz). Wetted materials include stainless steel, PVC and PTFE.

Configuration Options

The two base loggers differ only in memory depth: the OMYL-RH25 stores 100,000 readings, while the OMYL-RH25-4M stores 4 million readings. Both provide the same internal temperature/humidity sensors and the same two external inputs.

External sensor families

Capability is extended through interchangeable external probes, each addressing a different measurement task:

• General-purpose Pt1000 RTD probes (OMYL-CML80-2, OMYL-CMS80-2) for immersion and general temperature over -70 to 250°C (-94 to 482°F).
• Surface Pt1000 RTD probes (OMYL-EU80-2) and magnetic surface probes (OMYL-EUM80-2) for contact measurement.
• Fast-response air probes (OMYL-FR80-2) for rapid air temperature changes.
• Temperature/humidity probes (OMYL-RHT80-2) and extra-small versions (OMYL-RHT-XS80-2) covering 0 to 100% RH.
• Special humidity probes for wall saturation (OMYL-RHTO-2) and confined spaces (OMYL-RHTW-2).
• Condensation sensor (OMYL-SHS-A-2) for incipient moisture over 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F).

Cable material and length

Most probes are offered in PVC with a maximum operating temperature of 80°C (176°F) or in PTFE rated to 120°C (248°F), and in cable lengths of 2 m (6.6') or 5 m (16.4'). Condensation sensors carry a maximum operating temperature of 50°C (122°F).

Battery temperature range

Choosing the standard battery (OMYL-BATT) or the high temperature battery (OMYL-BATT-HT) sets the ambient limit at either -30 to 70°C (-22 to 158°F) or -40 to 90°C (-40 to 194°F).
