Supported Applications
The ACI MLP2 Series consists of miniature low differential pressure transmitters designed for OEM or high-density panel mounting applications. The series is intended for monitoring differential pressure in systems using non-corrosive, non-ionic gases, such as dry air and other inert gases.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The MLP2 Series utilizes a piezoresistive silicon sensing element to provide linear output signals. Standard sensor accuracy is +/- 0.5% FSO, with an optional +/- 0.25% FSO available for most ranges (excluding the 0.1" wc and +/- 0.1" wc ranges). The compensated temperature range is 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C), while the operating ambient temperature spans 32 to 185°F (0 to 85°C). Thermal effects are specified as +/- 0.056% FSO/°F (+/- 0.10% FSO/°C).
Performance limits vary by pressure range:
- Ranges < 1" wc (248.84 Pa): Proof Pressure: 270" wc (67.2 kPa); Burst Pressure: 415" wc (103.3 kPa).
- Ranges > 1" wc to < 10" wc: Proof Pressure: 350" wc (87.12 kPa); Burst Pressure: 550" wc (136.9 kPa).
- Ranges > 10" wc to < 40" wc: Proof Pressure: 562" wc (140 kPa); Burst Pressure: 1004.7" wc (250 kPa).
The response time is 4 Seconds (T95), with an output update rate of 0.5 Second intervals. A warm-up period of 15 Minutes is required before the pushbutton zero function should be utilized.
Configuration Options
The series offers extensive configuration options for pressure ranges, units, directionality, accuracy, and signal output to meet specific installation needs.
Pressure Ranges & Units
- Ranges: Available from +/- 0.1" wc up to +/- 10,000" wc (or equivalent in inches of water column).
- Units: Inches of Water Column (W) or Pascals (P). Note that certain ranges are available for Pascal units only.
- Directionality: Configurable as Uni-Directional (U, e.g., 0 to X" wc) or Bi-Directional (B, e.g., -X to +X" wc).
Outputs & Power Supply
- Output Signals: 4-20 mA (2-wire loop powered or 3-wire VAC/VDC), 0-5 VDC, and 0-10 VDC.
- Power Requirements:
- 4-20 mA Output: 16-36 VDC (max. 250 Ω Load) or 21-36 VDC (max. 500 Ω Load); also supports 24VAC ± 10%, 50/60 Hz.
- 0-5 VDC Output: 12-36 VDC / 24VAC ± 10%.
- 0-10 VDC Output: 16-36 VDC / 24VAC ± 10%.
Housing & Mounting
- Enclosure: Polycarbonate with UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. Dimensions are approximately 4.210" (106.94 mm) x 2.085" (52.96 mm) x 1.340" (34.04 mm).
- Mounting: Features an integral rear-mount DIN rail foot for 35 mm rails and includes a side mount adapter for high-density panel applications.
- Connections: Brass pressure fittings accept 0.250" (6.35mm) O.D. x 0.170" (4.318mm) I.D. push-on flexible poly tubing. Electrical connections utilize a 3-position de-pluggable screw terminal block compatible with wire sizes from 14 AWG to 24 AWG.
Key Product Differences
The MLP2 Series is distinguished by its configurable model structure, allowing selection of specific pressure ranges (e.g., D10 for 0.10", 005 for 5.00"), units (W or P), and directionality (U or B). Accuracy can be selected as standard (+/- 0.5% FSO) or optional high accuracy (+/- 0.25% FSO, code "B"). Output signals are designated by codes A (4-20 mA), B (0-5 VDC), and C (0-10 VDC).
Optional NIST certification is available as a 3 Point or 5 Point certificate at the time of order. The series also supports various accessories including pitot tubes for velocity and static pressure measurement, pickup ports in stainless steel or plastic enclosures, and medical tubing kits.
