Supported Applications

The Omega PGH and PGJ series are industrial process gauges designed for pressure measurement in applications requiring hermetically sealed construction. These analog instruments feature a solid front with a blowout back, making them suitable for environments where safety from overpressure events is critical. The series supports standard psi ranges as well as compound (vacuum/positive), combination (dual-scale), and vacuum-only configurations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PGH and PGJ gauges deliver 0.5% FS accuracy with a fully temperature-compensated design to maintain performance stability. The maximum operating process temperature is rated at 121°C (250°F). Key construction features include heavy-duty 316 SS wetted parts, specifically the Bourdon tube and connection, along with PTFE-coated stainless steel movement components for long-lasting accuracy. The instrument window utilizes double-strength shatter-resistant glass.

Configuration Options

The series offers a broad envelope of configurations across dial sizes, mounting styles, and measurement ranges to accommodate specific installation needs.

• Dial Sizes: Available in 4½" (114 mm) and 6" (152 mm) diameters with a 270° arc scale.
• Housing & Mounting: Style PGH features lower connection mounting; Style PGJ offers back connection. Cases are constructed from black phenol for lower connections or aluminum for back connections.
• Process Connection: Standard ½ MNPT (Male National Pipe Thread) in 316 SS.
• Measurement Ranges:
  • Standard psi: From 0/15 to 0/20,000 psi.
  • Compound ranges: Dual scales for inches of mercury and psi (e.g., 30 inHg/0/15 psi).
  • Combination ranges: Inner scale in psi with outer scale in feet water (e.g., 0/60 psi / 0/140 ft. water).
  • Vacuum ranges: Dedicated scales for inches of mercury or feet of water.
• Special Options:
  • Silicone fill option (suffix "-F"), available on PGH models only, to dampen vibration and pulsation.
  • Oxygen-service cleaning option (suffix "-X6B").
  • Customized dial options requiring a 5-piece minimum order per dial design.

Key Product Differences

The series is divided into two primary styles distinguished by mounting orientation and available features. Style PGH models are offered with lower connections (suffix "L") or back connections (suffix "B"), while Style PGJ models feature back connections only.

• Style PGH: Available in 4½" dial sizes with either lower connection (PGH-45L) or back connection (PGH-45B). This style supports the silicone fill option (-F suffix).
• Style PGJ: Offered in both 4½" and 6" dial sizes, exclusively with back connections. Model numbers follow the format PGJ-[SIZE]B-[RANGE CODE].
