Supported Applications

The Omega PIK/PUK Series consists of space-saving, multi-level feed-through terminal blocks designed for DIN rail mounting. These screw connection terminals are engineered to facilitate multiple connections to a single potential and are suitable for use with 3- and 4-wire sensors. The series supports terminating photoelectric and proximity sensors in a single block to reduce installation time.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PIK/PUK Series features screw connections providing secure, maintenance-free wiring with self-locking zinc-plated wire clamps. Electrical ratings vary by model family:

• PIK-4N and PIK-4NK Models: Rated for 750V/32 A (general), 500V/32 A under VDE (IEC 60947-1) standards, and 300V/32 A per UL.
• PUK Series Models: Rated for 500V/24 A (general), 440V/24 A under VDE (IEC 60947-1) standards, and 300V/24 A per UL.

All models in the series maintain a width of 6 mm. Wire stripping requirements are specified at an insulation strip length of 9 mm for all variants.

Configuration Options

The PIK/PUK Series offers distinct configurations to address specific wiring topologies, including dual feed-through and multi-connection bridging:

• PIK-4N: A two-level feed-through terminal block.
• PIK-4NK: Features an internal connecting bridge configured for one-in, three-out connections.
• PUK-3: A three-level feed-through terminal block.
• PUK-2T: Designed as a two-level feed-through or 3-wire sensor terminal block with ground connection capability.
• PUK-3T: Configured for three-level feed-through or 4-wire sensors with ground connection capability.

The series supports various wire gauges depending on the model: PIK models accept AWG 26–10, while PUK models accommodate AWG 24–12. Accessories available for system expansion and organization include end plates (e.g., PIK-4N-EP), cross-connectors (OM-474xxx/OM-480xxx series), marking tags (MKR series), and DIN rail end brackets (T-BLK-EB).

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction within the PIK/PUK Series lies in the number of connection levels and internal bridging logic. The PIK family focuses on general feed-through applications with a 32 A rating, whereas the PUK family is optimized for sensor termination (specifically photoelectric and proximity sensors) at a 24 A rating.

Model-specific variations include:

• Bridging Logic: The PIK-4NK includes an internal bridge not present in the standard PIK-4N, enabling one-in/three-out routing without external jumpers for that specific configuration.
• Sensor Grounding: PUK models designated with a "T" suffix (PUK-2T, PUK-3T) provide dedicated ground connections suitable for 3-wire and 4-wire sensor wiring schemes, distinguishing them from the standard feed-through PUK-3.
• Cross-Connectors: Jumpers are model-specific; OM-474xxx series jumpers serve PIK terminals, while OM-480xxx series jumpers are designated for PUK terminals. Available positions include 2, 3, 4, and 10.
