Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series 1227 Dual Range Flex-Tube® U-Manometers are designed to measure pressure, vacuum, and differential pressure. These instruments function as versatile manometers capable of reading high-range pressure on the right leg or operating as an inclined gage for low-range readings on the bottom leg.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series 1227 provides dual measurement ranges depending on orientation. As a vertical U-tube manometer, the unit reads 0 to 16" water with 1" major divisions and .2" minor divisions; the Model 1227M metric version covers 0-400 mm water column. When configured as an inclined gage, the scale is 17" long, reading .20 to 0 to 2.6" water with .02" minor divisions; the Model 1227M metric version covers -5 to 0 to 70 mm water column.

The instrument features a sturdy, clear plastic housing described as shatterproof indicating tube material.

Configuration Options

The series is available in two primary unit types: Model 1227 for English units and Model 1227M for metric units.

Included Accessories

Each Series 1227 manometer ships with the following standard accessories:

• Two magnetic carrying plugs with retainers (for use when not in service)
• Two magnetic clips to hold the instrument to a metal surface
• Flexible red vinyl plastic tubing connectors
• Brass terminal tube, 1/4" diameter x 8" long
• One terminal tube holder
• Brass adaptor, 1/8" pipe thread to plastic tubing
• One 4-1/2" length of Tygon® plastic tubing
• One 1 ounce bottle .826 sp. gr. red gage fluid
• Vinyl carrying case

Maintenance and Replacement Parts

The series supports the use of Dwyer .826 specific gravity red gage fluid (D models) or water/mercury. Available replacement parts include:

• Red gage fluid: part # A-101 (1 oz)
• Fluorescein green color concentrate: part # A-126 (1 oz)
• Cleaning brush: part # A-366

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between variants is the unit system. Model 1227 displays readings in inches of water, while Model 1227M displays readings in millimeters of water column.

Safety and Handling Notes

• California Proposition 65: This product can expose you to chemicals including Lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
• Avoid harsh soaps and solvents which may damage the manometer and void warranty.
• Avoid using fluids other than those specified; corrosive fluids may damage the unit.
• When replacing O-rings, apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to assure a good seal. Do not coat the O-ring used in the overpressure safety trap.
