Supported Applications
The ACI eSENSE™ IP54 CO₂ transmitter is designed to measure carbon dioxide (CO₂) concentration in residential, commercial, and industrial spaces. The series monitors indoor air quality levels for use in Building Automation or Demand Control Ventilation Systems. Documented application environments include office buildings, schools, hospitals, and other facilities requiring continuous CO₂ monitoring.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The eSENSE™ IP54 utilizes single beam non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) technology to measure CO₂ concentration. The standard sensing range is 0 to 2000 ppm, with extended ranges up to 10,000 ppm available via factory set or SADK Kit configuration.
Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±30 ppm and ±3% of reading for the standard range; for extended ranges greater than 2,000 PPM, accuracy is specified as ±/– 30 ppm and ±/– 5% of reading. Repeatability is rated at ±20 ppm ±1% of measured value. The device features a response time (T1/e) of less than 10 seconds @ 30 cc/min flow rate, with diffusion times under 3 minutes.
Operating conditions require an ambient temperature between 32°F to 122°F (0°C to 50°C) and relative humidity from 0 – 95% RH Non-condensing. The unit operates on a power supply of 24 VAC/VDC ±20%; 50/60Hz (Half-wave rectified). Pressure deviation impacts performance at +1.6% per 0.145 psi (1 kPa) deviation from normal pressure, where 1 Atmosphere equals 14.7 psi (1.013 kPa).
Configuration Options
The series is offered with an IP54 rated enclosure and includes a standard analog output configuration. The device supports the Senseair ABC algorithm for Automatic Baseline Correction, eliminating manual calibration in many scenarios.
- Housing & Materials: Duct Box (IP65 rated) constructed from PC & ABS blend with Flammability Rating UL94V-0; Cover made of Makrolon® 6555 plastic (Flammability Rating UL94V-0); Pipe components use PC & ABS blend.
- Outputs: Standard configuration provides two parallel signal outputs: OUT1 delivers 0-10 VDC for the 0-2000 ppm range; OUT2 offers selectable 2-10 VDC or 4-20 mA. The OUT2 output indicates status by setting voltage to 1V or current to 2 mA upon self-diagnostic error detection.
- Display Options: An optional LCD display (Option -D) provides a 4-digit, 7-segment readout with ppm indicator showing CO₂ values in real-time.
- Electrical Connections: Utilizes 0.00232 in² (1.5 mm²) screw terminals for wiring.
Key Product Differences
The primary model variation is the ESENSE-IP54-LCD, which includes the LCD display and IP54 enclosure rating. The series supports extended measurement capabilities through specific accessories:
- SADK Calibration Kit (Item # 130502): Enables changes to calibration settings using UIP5 software.
- Custom Calibration Gas (Model A/CUSTOM CAL GAS*): Available for specific calibration requirements.
- UIP5 Software: Free download available via contact with ACI, used in conjunction with the SADK Kit to adjust settings or manage ABC functionality.
Note: Accuracy specifications are defined after a minimum of three (3) Automatic Baseline Correction periods (1 period = 8 days) of continuous operation. For buildings occupied 24 hours/day where CO₂ levels do not drop to 400 ppm, the ABC feature must be turned off.
