Supported Applications

The Omega Fast-MI-TC series consists of Fine Diameter Thermocouple Probes with Lead Wire. These probes are designed for temperature measurement applications requiring fine-diameter sensor elements.

Operating Conditions & Performance

No specific performance specifications, including accuracy classes, response times, or operating ranges, were provided in the source bundle for this series. Selection should be based on the available variant configurations and lead wire lengths documented below.

Variants by Lead Wire Length

  • 150 mm (part numbers ending in -150)
  • 200 mm (part numbers ending in -200)
  • 300 mm (part numbers ending in -300)
  • 500 mm (part numbers ending in -500)
  • 1000 mm (part numbers ending in -1000)

Configuration Options

The series is available with multiple configuration options reflected in the part number structure. Variants differ by sheath material, sensor element type, and lead wire length.

Sheath Materials

  • Type 310 stainless steel (indicated by CA310)
  • Type 316 stainless steel (indicated by CA316)

Sensor Element Types

The part numbers indicate two distinct sensor element configurations:
  • IM series elements (e.g., IM025, IM050, IM075, IM100)
  • M series elements (e.g., M025, M050, M075, M100)

Lead Wire Configurations

The final character in the sensor element code denotes the lead wire type:
  • G: Grounded or specific configuration (e.g., IM025G, M075G)
  • U: Ungrounded or specific configuration (e.g., IM025U, M100U)

Diameter Options

The numeric portion of the sensor element code corresponds to diameter options:
  • 0.25 mm (indicated by 025 in part numbers such as TJM-CA316-IM025G)
  • 0.50 mm (indicated by 050 in part numbers such as TJM-CA310-M050U)
  • 0.75 mm (indicated by 075 in part numbers such as TJM-CA316-IM075G)
  • 1.00 mm (indicated by 100 in part numbers such as TJM-CA310-M100U)

Key Product Differences

The Fast-MI-TC series offers a range of combinations across sheath material, sensor diameter, and lead wire length. The available variants include:
  • Type 310 stainless steel probes with IM or M element types in diameters ranging from 0.50 mm to 1.00 mm.
  • Type 316 stainless steel probes with IM or M element types, including a 0.25 mm diameter option (IM series only) and larger diameters up to 0.75 mm.

Each configuration is available in both G and U lead wire variants across the specified lengths of 150 mm through 1000 mm, subject to specific model availability within the bundle.

Does this come with the K type attached? The picture only offers a view of the wire. Also is the wire flexible?

Asked by: Stephanie
The TJM-CA310-IM100U-150 has a 150mm long 1 mm diameter probe made from 310SS. The wire coming off is 1 meter in length and PFA insulated and is flexible.

does this probe - and others like it (sous vide probles) - measure the temp only at the tip or along the entire length of the probe?

Asked by: lh64
Thank you for your inquiry. This probe measures the temperature only at the tip. FYI the immersion depth is 10 times the diameter of the probe.

What is the response time of this thermocouple?

Asked by: ETLMD
Thank you for your inquiry ETLMD. The “Time Constant” or “Response Time” is defined as the time required to reach 63.2% of an instantaneous temperature change. Grounded thermocouples have a faster response than the ungrounded thermocouples. For more information, please review this link: https://www.omega.com/en-us/resources/thermocouples-response-time
