Supported Applications

The Omega PGM Series consists of stainless steel industrial pressure gauges designed for corrosive processing environments. The series is specified for use in chemical, petrochemical refining, power generation, marine, food, and pharmaceutical applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Performance specifications vary by dial size. Accuracy is ±1.6% of span for 63 mm gauges and ±1% of span (per DIN 16 005) for 100 mm gauges. The series supports a working pressure up to 75% of full scale with overrange protection rated at 130% of full scale.

Operating limits are defined as follows:

  • Ambient temperature: -40 to 60°C (-40 to 140°F)
  • Process temperature: -20 to 80°C (-4 to 176°F)

The gauges feature a NEMA 4 (IP65) degree of protection. Wetted materials include a 316 SS element and 316 SS pressure connection.

Configuration Options

The PGM Series is available in two dial sizes: 63 mm (2½") and 100 mm (4"). Each size offers distinct mounting configurations, window materials, and blowout protection arrangements as documented below:

  • Mounting Options: Lower mount or flange mount fittings are available for both dial sizes.
  • Process Connections: ¼ MNPT on 63 mm (2.5") models; ½ MNPT on 100 mm (4") models.
  • Dial and Window: White aluminum dials with black lettering are standard. The window is Polycarbonate for 63 mm gauges and Laminated safety glass for 100 mm gauges.
  • Blowout Protection: Top-mounted rubber disc on 63 mm (2.5") models; Back-mounted rubber disc on 100 mm (4") models.

The series is liquid-fillable in the field to provide resistance against vibration and pulsation. Measurement ranges span from vacuum applications up to high-pressure limits, including:

  • Vacuum/Compound: Ranges such as 30 inHg vac to 15 psi (-1 to 1 bar) through 30 inHg vac to 150 psi (-1 to 10 bar).
  • Pressure Only: Ranging from 0 to 15 psi (0 to 1 bar) up to 0 to 11600 psi (0 to 800 bar).

Key Product Differences

Model numbers follow the format PGM-DIAL SIZEFITTING-RANGE CODE. The dial size is indicated by "63" or "100", and the fitting type is denoted by "L" for lower mount or "B" for back (flange) mount. Examples include PGM-63B-15PSI/1BAR and PGM-100L-15PSI/1BAR.

Key distinctions between the two primary sizes are:

  • Dial Size 63 mm (2½"): Features a Polycarbonate window, top-mounted rubber disc blowout protection, and ±1.6% of span accuracy.
  • Dial Size 100 mm (4"): Features Laminated safety glass windows, back-mounted rubber disc blowout protection, and ±1% of span accuracy per DIN 16 005.
