Supported Applications

The Omega PX61 series comprises miniature flush diaphragm pressure transducers designed for general-purpose pressure measurement. The product overview identifies the series as suitable for applications requiring compact sensing elements with a flush diaphragm design, available in both absolute and gage (including sealed gage) configurations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PX61 series operates within an ambient and process temperature range of -54 to 121°C (-65 to 250°F), with a compensated temperature range specified as 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Performance specifications include an accuracy of 1.0% linearity and hysteresis combined, calibrated at 0%, 50%, 100%, 50%, 0%. Repeatability is rated at ±0.1% of FSO, with a zero balance tolerance of ±3.0% of FSO.

Thermal effects are documented as Zero: ±0.01% FS/°F and Span: ±0.02% FSO/°F. The series supports measurement ranges from 0-50 psi to 0-15,000 psi (0-3.4 bar to 0-1034 bar). Proof pressure is rated at 150% of capacity.

Configuration Options

The series offers two primary construction variants: the PX61C and PX61V, each with distinct physical dimensions, process connections, and electrical interfaces. Wetted parts for both series are constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel.

  • PX61C Series: Features all-welded construction with an overall length of 48 mm (1.89 in) and a diameter of 12 mm (1/2 in). The process connection is ¼-18 NPT. Electrical output utilizes a PTIH-10-6P connector.
  • PX61V Series: Features all stainless steel construction with a maximum length of 46 mm (1.81 in) and a diameter of 19 mm (0.75 in). The process connection is ½-20 UNF-2A. Electrical output options include either a 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor cable or a PTIH-10-6P connector.

Both series operate on a 5 Vdc excitation and provide an output range of 2 mV/V -30% +50%. For the 50 psi range, the output is specified as 1 mV/V -30% +50%. The bridge resistance is nominal at 350 Ω. Burst pressure ratings differ by series: PX61C supports 500% of capacity or 10,000 psi (whichever is less), while PX61V supports 300% of capacity or 30,000 psi (whichever is less).

Key Product Differences

The primary distinction between the two series lies in their physical form factor and connection standards. The PX61C utilizes a smaller diameter profile with an NPT thread, whereas the PX61V offers a larger diameter housing compatible with UNF-2A threads.

  • Pressure Types: Models are available for Absolute Pressure (suffix 'A'), Gage Pressure (suffix 'G'), and Sealed Gage Pressure. To order sealed gage pressure models, the model number suffix is changed from 'G' to 'S'.
  • PX61V Electrical Configuration: For PX61V series units, inserting a '0' in the model number designates cable style output, while inserting a '1' indicates connector style.
  • Ranges and Accessories: The series includes ranges up to 15,000 psi for the PX61V. A mating connector (PT06F10-6S-R) is available as an accessory sold separately for both series when configured with a connector.
