Supported Applications
The Omega TXDIN70 Series is a dual-channel DIN rail temperature transmitter and signal isolator designed for industrial process instrumentation. The series accepts ungrounded thermocouple inputs, RTD sensors, linear voltage signals, or user-defined linear input units (-9990 to 30,000). It provides retransmission of these measurements into configurable current outputs suitable for data acquisition and control systems.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The TXDIN70 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 60°C with humidity up to ≤90% RH. Retransmission accuracy is specified as 0.3% full scale ±1 digit, including input and output error. Temperature drift is rated at ≤0.015%FS/°C (including the temperature drift of input and output). The device features digital filtering with an adjustable degree for each channel.
Input ranges vary by sensor type:
- Thermocouples: K (-50 to 1300°C), S/R (-50 to 1700°C), T (-200 to 350°C), E (0 to 1000°C), J (0 to 1200°C), B* (0 to 1800°C, with measurement accuracy only at 400 to 1800°C and less accurate from 60 to 400°C), N (-50 to 1300°C), WRe5-WRe26 (0 to 2300°C).
- RTDs: Pt100 (-200 to 900°C) and Cu50.
- Linear Voltage: 0 to 20 mV, 0 to 60 mV, 0 to 100 mV, 0 to 1 V, or 0.2 to 1 V.
The output specification allows signals to be freely defined in the range of 0 ~ 22 mA with a maximum output voltage ≥11V (commonly configured as 4 to 20 mA or 0 to 20 mA). Isolation withstands voltage between power, signal input and output terminals at ≥2300 Vdc. Electromagnetic compatibility meets ±4KV/5KHz according to IEC61000-4-4 (EFT) and 4KV according to IEC61000-4-5.
Configuration Options
The series is configured for DIN rail mounting with overall dimensions of 100 H x 22.5 W x 100 mm D (3.9 x 0.89 x 3.9") and a weight of 85 g (0.18 lb). Power options include universal AC or DC supply:
- TXDIN70: Powered by 100 to 240 Vac, -15%, +10% / 50 to 60 Hz.
- TXDIN70-24V: Powered by 24 Vdc.
Configuration is performed using an E8 handset display. An optional external plug-in display module (model TXDIN70-DISPLAY) connects to the transmitter for local monitoring. The device supports auto reference junction compensation and includes a CE approval mark. Power consumption is ≤3W.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction within the series lies in power supply requirements: standard models accept 100~240VAC, while the -24V variant accepts 24 Vdc. Both variants share identical input capabilities and output specifications. The TXDIN70-DISPLAY is an accessory option rather than a standalone transmitter model; it provides visual feedback for the installed unit.
