Supported Applications
The Omega DRSP-I series consists of DIN rail DC current signal splitters that accept a single 4 to 20 mA input and provide two optically isolated 4 to 20 mA outputs linearly related to the input. Typical applications include isolation, output splitting, output device separation, and redundancy configurations designed to prevent failure of an entire loop if one device fails.
The full 4-way isolation architecture (input, output 1, output 2, power) supports ground loop elimination, common mode signal rejection, and noise pickup reduction in industrial control environments.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 60°C (14 to 140°F). The input accepts a 4 to 20 mA signal with a typical impedance of 50 Ω. Output linearity is better than ±0.1% of span, and stability is rated at better than ±0.04% of span per °C.

Loop Powering and Wiring
The module provides selectable loop power for both input and output channels:
- Input Loop Power Supply: 15 Vdc ±10%, regulated, 25 mA; may be selectively wired for sinking or sourcing mA input.
- Output Loop Power Supplies: One per channel (Output 1 and Output 2); 20 Vdc nominal, regulated, 25 mA. Outputs support a load resistance of up to 1000 Ω at 20 mA with 20V compliance.
Adjustments and Diagnostics
- Zero and Span: Multi-turn potentiometers for each output channel allow ±15% of span adjustment range to compensate for load and lead variations.
- Status Indication: Variable brightness LEDs indicate I/O loop level and status (one for input, one for each output).
- Functional Test: Front panel buttons set each output to a test level; adjustable 0 to 100% of span.
Connections and Accessories
