Supported Applications
The Omega TXDIN1600 Series comprises universal DIN rail mounted transmitters and trip amplifiers designed for signal conditioning in industrial environments. The series accepts common process sensor inputs including Thermocouples (K, J, E, N, T, R, S), RTDs (Pt100), millivolt signals, and milliampere currents to provide standardized output signals or control actions.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -20 to 70°C (-4 to 158°F) with a humidity rating of 10 to 95% RH non-condensing. Storage temperatures are specified from -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). Response time is documented as less than 500 ms to reach 95% of the final value, with a start-up time under 3 seconds.
Accuracy specifications vary by input type and range:
- Thermocouples (K, J, E, N, T): 0.1% of FSR ±0.5°C (±0.9°F)
- Thermocouples (R, S): ±0.5°C (±0.9°F) ±0.1% of FSR** (*Only over the range 800 to 1600°C*)
- Pt100: ±0.1°C (±0.9°F)/±0.05% of rdg
- mV Input (-40 to 75 mV): ±0.04 mV
- mA Input (-10 to 25 mA): ±0.008 mA
Note: Accuracy for Pt100 and thermocouple does not include sensor and cold junction errors.
Configuration Options
The TXDIN1600 Series is configurable across three primary models to address specific signal transmission or control needs:
- TXDIN1610: Universal DIN rail transmitter with 4 to 20 mA, 2-Wire Output.
- TXDIN1620: Universal DIN rail transmitter with 3-wire isolated voltage output (configurable ranges: 0 to 10 V, 0 to 5 V, 1 to 5 V, or 2 to 10 V).
- TXDIN1630: Universal DIN rail trip amplifier with dual relay outputs rated at 250 Vac 1 Amp.
All models feature a USB interface for configuration and user trim, powered via the PC during setup. The enclosure is constructed from Polyamide 6.6 (self-extinguishing) in grey, measuring 17.5 W x 56.4 D x 90 mm L (0.7 x 2.2 x 3.5"). Electrical connections utilize screw terminals compatible with cables up to 2.5 mm Max.
Power supply requirements are model-specific:
- TXDIN1610: 11 to 30 Vdc, 24V nominal
- TXDIN1620: 15 to 24 Vdc
- TXDIN1630: 24 Vdc ±5% @ 40 mA max
The series includes CE testing to BS EN 61326 and RoHS compliance. A maximum loop load of 600 Ω @ 24V is specified for the current output model.
Key Product Differences
Differences between models are defined by their output architecture:
- TXDIN1610 vs. TXDIN1620: The 1610 provides a standard two-wire current loop (4 to 20 mA), while the 1620 offers isolated three-wire voltage outputs with selectable ranges.
- TXDIN1630 Distinction: Unlike the transmitter models, the TXDIN1630 functions as a trip amplifier providing dual relay contacts for switching applications rather than analog signal transmission.
All variants support universal input types (K, J, E, N, T, R, S thermocouples; Pt100 RTDs; mV; mA) and include user trim functionality. The series requires DIN rail mounting inside a suitable enclosure providing environmental protection to IP65 or greater.
