Supported Applications

The Omega FPM-5750 series is a battery-powered flow indicator and totalizer designed to provide uninterrupted monitoring of flow rate and totalized volume. The instrument displays real-time flow data alongside three distinct totalizers: one permanent non-resettable counter, one resettable via keypad or remote signal, and one secured by user-selectable access code. It supports applications requiring display averaging for fluctuating flows and includes a no-flow indicator that tracks hours of inactivity.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The FPM-5750 operates within an ambient temperature range of -10 to 65°C (14 to 149°F) with storage capability from -40 to 100°C (-40 to 212°F). It accepts input frequencies up to 400 Hz and maintains an accuracy of ±0.5% of reading. The enclosure is rated NEMA 4X (IP65 front panel), constructed from PBT resin with a sealed silicon rubber keypad, allowing operation in environments with relative humidity from 0 to 95% non-condensing.

Power is supplied by two included "AA" 3.6V Lithium thionyl chloride batteries (SAFT LS14500 or equivalent), providing a nominal life of 4 years at temperatures ≤50°C (122°F). The device features non-volatile memory to retain programming and totalizer values even when batteries are removed.

Configuration Options

The series is available in two primary mounting configurations: panel mount (FPM-5750-P) and field/remote mount (FPM-5750). The panel version requires a cutout of 92 x 92 mm² (3.62 x 3.62"). Field-mounted units require the FP90UM universal mounting kit for remote wall or pipe installation.

The instrument is compatible with OMEGA flow sensors including the FP-5300/FP-5100, FP-5200, FP-6000, and FP-8501 series. Sensors and fittings are sold separately to accommodate specific pipe sizes and media requirements.

The FPM-5750 series distinguishes itself through its dual-line LCD display, showing a 4-digit upper line for flow rate and an 8-digit lower line for volume totalizer counts. Unlike standard alkaline battery devices, the unit requires specific 3.6V Lithium thionyl chloride batteries; it will not operate with 1.5 V alkaline cells.

Model variations are defined by mounting style: the FPM-5750-P is designed for direct panel integration, while the base FPM-5750 model supports flexible field installation via the optional FP90UM kit. Both variants share identical internal electronics, display capabilities, and totalizer logic.
