Supported Applications

The ACI Thermistor Flush Mount Sensors are low-profile temperature sensors designed for applications where aesthetics is a primary concern. The series features an encapsulation process intended to eliminate the effects of moisture and increase response times using thermally conductive epoxy. These flush-mount button sensors are configured for installation hidden underneath cabinets or shelving units, in decorative metal plates, trim, drywall, or from a ½" piece of conduit coming down from the ceiling or roof.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series utilizes Non-Linear, NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistor technology with two non-polarity sensitive wires. Operating temperature ranges vary by enclosure material: A/XX-PBS Series supports -40 to 70°C (-40 to 158°F), while A/XX-BBS and A/XX-SBS Series support -40 to 150°C (-40 to 302°F). Storage temperature for all series is rated at -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). The sensors operate within a humidity range of 10 to 95% RH, non-condensing.

Accuracy specifications depend on the sensor curve and operating range. For most thermistor models in the 0-70°C (32-158°F) range, accuracy is +/-0.2°C (+/-0.36°F), except for the A/10K-E1 Series which offers +/-0.3°C (+/-0.54°F). The A/1.8K Series provides +/-0.5°C @ 25°C (77°F) and (+/-1.0°C) (+/-1.8°F). Response time is listed as 10 Seconds nominal for a 63% step change.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable sensor curves, enclosure materials, and optional certifications to meet specific installation requirements.

  • Sensor Curves: Available in A/1.8K (1.8KΩ nominal), A/3K (3KΩ nominal), A/AN Type III (10KΩ nominal), A/AN-BC (5.238KΩ nominal), A/CP Type II (10KΩ nominal), A/CSI (10KΩ nominal), A/10KS (10KΩ nominal), A/10K-E1 (10KΩ nominal), A/20K (20KΩ nominal), A/50K (50KΩ nominal), and A/100KS (100KΩ nominal).
  • Enclosure Materials: Options include ABS plastic (A/XX-PBS Series) with a UL94-HB flammability rating, Brass (A/XX-BBS Series), or 304 Stainless Steel (A/XX-SBS Series).
  • Electrical Connections: Sensors feature two 24" (61cm) lead wires consisting of 22 AWG silver-plated copper conductors with Etched Teflon (PTFE) insulation rated to Mil Spec 16878/4 Type E. Lead wire colors differentiate sensor types.
  • Mounting: Units are supplied with a mounting kit including anchors, spacers, and brass nuts depending on the series configuration.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the Therm-Flush-Mount series differ primarily by sensor resistance curve, enclosure material, and optional NIST certification. The A/XX-PBS Series utilizes a plastic button with dimensions of 1.00" (25.4mm) x 0.750" (19mm), while the metal variants (A/XX-BBS and A/XX-SBS) measure 1.20" (30.48mm) x 0.700" (17.78mm). The AN-BC sensor includes an internal 11K shunt resistor configuration.

Specific availability constraints apply to certain combinations; for example, the AN-BC and 10KS sensors are not available in the PBS plastic button enclosure. Optional NIST certificates (3 Points) can be added to select models via a specific suffix code during ordering.
