Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series SG1 consists of stainless steel industrial pressure gages designed for applications requiring resistance to corrosion in harsh environments. These instruments are suitable for monitoring compatible gases and liquids where ambient corrosion is a concern. The series provides an economical solution for processes involving fluids that are compatible with brass and bronze wetted materials.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series SG1 gages feature 304 SS housings and polycarbonate lenses, offering protection against corrosive ambient conditions. The instruments operate within an ambient temperature range of -4 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C). Accuracy is specified at ±2.5% FS across the available measurement ranges.

Available pressure ranges include:

  • 30 in Hg to 0
  • 0 to 30 psi
  • 0 to 60 psi
  • 0 to 100 psi
  • 0 to 160 psi
  • 0 to 200 psi
  • 0 to 300 psi

The pressure limit is defined as the full-scale (FS) range. The gages utilize a 1/8" male NPT process connection.

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple configuration options to accommodate specific installation requirements, including mounting orientation and calibration documentation.

  • Housing Material: 304 SS case with a stainless steel ring.
  • Lens: Polycarbonate.
  • Wetted Materials (SG1): Brass connector and bronze tube.
  • Mounting Configurations: Available in bottom or back connection styles. Model numbers ending in 21N indicate a bottom connection, while changing the suffix to 41N indicates a back connection.
  • Sizes: 1.5" (40 mm) diameter face.

Optional accessories include:

  • A-445B: U-bracket mounting kit for 1.5" and 2.5" gages.
  • NISTCAL-PG1: NIST traceable pressure calibration certificate (charged per unit).

Key Product Differences

The Series SG1 is distinguished from the related Series SG3 by its wetted material composition. While both series share a 304 SS housing, ±2.5% FS accuracy, and similar dimensional profiles (overall height of 1-27/32 [47.00] for bottom connection), the Series SG1 utilizes brass connectors and bronze tubes.

In contrast, the Series SG3 employs 316 L SS tubes and 316 SS connectors to provide enhanced chemical compatibility for more aggressive media. The weight of a Series SG1 gage is 2.2 oz (63 g) for bottom connection models and 2.3 oz (65 g) for back connection models.
