Supported Applications
The Omega LCM204 and LCM214 series are high-accuracy miniature universal load cells designed for tension and compression applications. These surface-mount style sensors feature a compact package intended for use in test stands and difficult locations where space is constrained. The stainless steel construction supports industrial and commercial weighing as well as force measuring tasks.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series offers measurement ranges from 0-100 N to 0-50,000 N (metric) and 0-25 lb to 0-10,000 lb (standard). Key performance specifications include a linearity of ±0.15% FSO, hysteresis of ±0.1% FSO, and repeatability of ±0.05% FSO. The load cells are rated for an operating temperature range of -46 to 107°C (-50 to 225°F) with a compensated temperature range of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Thermal effects on zero and span are specified as 0.0045% FSO/°F and 0.009% FSO/°F, respectively.
Electrical performance includes an output signal of 2 mV/V ±1.0%, with input resistance at a minimum of 350 Ω and output resistance of 350 ±10 Ω. The series supports safe overload up to 150% of capacity and ultimate overload up to 300% of capacity. Protection is rated IP65, and the units feature an FM APPROVED intrinsically safe design with NIST traceability.
Configuration Options
The LCM204/LCM214 series provides configurable options for mounting threads, electrical connections, and capacity ranges to suit specific installation needs. The physical dimensions are consistent across the family: 51 mm (2.00 in) diameter with a height of 39.6 mm (1.56 in).
Mounting Threads
- A Thread: LC204/LC214 models use ½-20 UNF-2A (19 L); LCM204/LCM214 models use M12 x 1.75 (19 L).
- B Thread: LC204/LC214 models use 10-32 UNF (6.3 DP min); LCM204/LCM214 models use M5 x 0.8 (6.3 DP min).
Electrical Connections
- Cable Style: LC204 and LCM204 units include a 3 m (10') 4-conductor shielded cable.
- Twist-Lock Connector: LC214 and LCM214 units utilize a twist-lock connector interface. The mating connector PT06F10-6S is available as an accessory, along with the CA-4PC24-2-015 cable assembly.

- Meters: Compatible with DPIS, DP41-S, and DP25B-S meters (note: DPIS is suitable for one-direction measurement only).
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between standard inch-based models (LC204/LC214) and metric models (LCM204/LCM214). The LC2xx family uses UNF threads, while the LCM2xx family utilizes M-series metric threads. Within each capacity range, users can select between a fixed cable assembly (LC204/LCM204) or a twist-lock connector interface (LC214/LCM214).
Model numbering follows the format SERIES-CAPACITY, such as LCM204-50KN for 50,000 N capacity. The series includes capacities ranging from 100 N to 50,000 N in metric and 25 lb to 10,000 lb in standard units. All models come complete with a 5-point calibration (in tension: 0%, 50%, 100%, 50%, 0%) and include shunt data for verification.
