Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series VB Volume Booster functions as a one-to-one signal to output relay designed to increase valve stroke speed. It responds to slight changes in input signal, delivering high volume for quick throttling control and improving the accuracy of air pressure output to the actuator. The booster receives the positioner's signal output and supplies proper air pressure to reduce response and adjustment time.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series VB is specified for service with Air only. It operates within ambient temperature limits of -4 to 158°F (-20 to 70°C). The device maintains a linearity of ±1% FS and an In/Output Pressure Ratio of 1:1. Maximum pressure ratings are defined as follows:
- Max Supply Pressure: 145 psi (10 bar)
- Max Signal/Output Pressure: 101.5 psi (7 bar)
The signal connection is standardized at 1/4" NPT for all models.
Configuration Options
The series offers three size configurations with varying flow coefficients and process connections, available in two construction materials. The model number guide follows the format VB-, where SS denotes stainless steel variants (e.g., VB-01SS).

Construction Materials

Air must be clean and dry to ensure proper functioning. Inflow air is exhausted through the volume booster's side exhaust port, which should be checked for blockage or foreign objects.
Key Product Differences
Variants differ by size (VB-01, VB-02, VB-03) and material construction. The SS suffix indicates a stainless steel body; non-suffixed models feature an aluminum body. Dimensions vary by model:

The Series VB is not field serviceable and should be returned if repair is needed; attempting field repair may void the warranty.
