Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series QV Quick-View® Rotary Position Indicator/Switch is designed for mounting on valves or actuators to indicate position. The series supports rotary valve indication, linear valve indication via lever drive conversion, and industrial damper position monitoring.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series QV operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 180°F (-40 to 82°C) with a maximum altitude rating of 2000 m (6560 ft). The device features a polycarbonate housing and conduit, providing NEMA 4, 4X enclosure ratings. Optional explosion-proof configurations are rated for Class I, Groups A, B, C, D; Class II, Groups F & G; Div. 2.
Switch travel ranges from a minimum of 5° to a maximum of 360°. Electrical connection is provided via one 3/4" NPT conduit entrance. The series holds CE, CSA, and cULus approvals.
Configuration Options
The Series QV offers configurable options for switch count, type, driving style, lighting, visual indication orientation, and hazardous location ratings.
- Switch Configuration: Available with up to four individual switches. Switch types include 10A mechanical snap switch (QV-X1XXXX), 1A mechanical gold contacts (QV-X2XXXX), 2A Proximity reed switch (QV-X3XXXX), 5-25 VDC namur sensor (QV-X4XXXX), 10-30 VDC inductive sensor (QV-X5XXXX), and a second variant of the 10A mechanical snap switch (QV-X6XXXX).
- Electrical Ratings: Mechanical switches support ratings such as 10 A @ 125/250 VAC; 0.5 A 125 VDC; and 10 A @ 24 VDC depending on the specific switch code (QV-X1XXXX, QV-X6XXXX). Proximity switches support 2A @ 125 VAC or 2A @ 30 VDC.
- Driving Style: Configurable for Direct drive (rotational), Lever drive (linear to rotary conversion), or Namur mounting styles.
- Lighting & Indication: Optional backlighting is available using 24-28 VDC bright white LED's. Visual indication includes a standard OPEN/CLOSED indicator drum, with an upside-down orientation option also offered.
