Series-A-TC

Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series A-TC provides thermocouple extension grade wire and connectors designed to extend leads for temperature measurement systems. The series includes spooled thermocouple wire in Type J and Type K configurations, alongside male plugs and female jacks available in standard and miniature sizes.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The performance envelope of the Series A-TC is defined by insulation material selection:

• Fiber glass insulation: Rated for process temperatures up to 450°C. Models with fiber glass insulation feature a black outer sheath (Type J) or yellow outer sheath (Type K).
• FEP insulation: Rated for process temperatures up to 200°C. FEP-insulated models utilize either a black or yellow outer sheath depending on the thermocouple type.

All spooled wire variants in this series are constructed with 24 AWG conductors and have a cross-sectional area of 0.20 SQMM.

Configuration Options

The Series A-TC offers configurable options across wire lengths, thermocouple types, insulation materials, and connector styles to accommodate specific installation needs.

Spooled Wire Configurations

• Type: Type J or Type K.
• Lengths: Available in 25', 50', and 100' spools.
• Insulation & Sheath: Fiber glass (450°C) with black sheath for Type J or yellow sheath for Type K; FEP (200°C) with black or yellow outer sheaths corresponding to the thermocouple type.

Connector Options

The series includes male plugs and female jacks housed in black plastic. Connectors are offered in standard size single and miniature size single configurations for various thermocouple types:

• Type J, K, T: Available as Standard Size Single (Male/Female) and Miniature Size Single (Male).
• Type R, S: Available as Miniature Size Single (Male Plug).
• Cu (3-wire): Available as Standard Size Single (Male/Female).

Key Product Differences

Variants within the Series A-TC are distinguished by thermocouple type, insulation material, and spool length. The model number guide follows the format A-TC-<LENGTH>-<TYPE>-<INSULATION>, such as A-TC-J25-FB for a 25' Type J wire with fiber glass insulation.

Connector models are identified by specific part numbers (e.g., 481-0001 through 481-0135) corresponding to the thermocouple type and connector size. The series does not include accuracy class, response time, or pressure ratings in its documented specifications.
