The product line includes standard fixed-length extension cables with molded connectors, retractable cable assemblies for portable or temporary connections, and glass braid wire configurations.

• Thermocouple Extension: Extends the signal from a thermocouple sensor to a display unit, transmitter, or controller while maintaining calibration integrity.
• Connector Interfaces: Facilitates connection between standard size (OST/OSTW) and subminiature (SMP/SMPW) thermocouple connectors.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is constructed from 0.020" (24 Gage) stranded wire to ensure flexibility and durability in extension applications. Cables are available with ANSI color coding as standard, with IEC color code options accessible online.

• Wire Construction: 24 gage stranded wire.
• Cable Jacketing Options:   - PFA Coated Wire (TEC series)   - Glass Overbraid Stranded Wire (GEC series)
• Retractable Cable Expansion: REC retractable cables are expandable 5:1, meaning a retracted length of one foot expands to 5' in extended use.

Cable Lengths by Configuration

The documented lengths for the series vary by model family:

• TEC (PFA Coated) and GEC (Glass Braid): Available in 3 m (10') or 7.5 m (25').
• REC (Retractable): Available in retracted lengths of 30 cm (1') or 120 cm (4'), expanding to longer operational distances.

Configuration Options

The series supports a wide range of thermocouple calibrations and connector combinations, allowing engineers to match specific sensor types and mating hardware requirements. The model number structure follows the format: Model No. - <Calibration> - <Length> - <Connector Code>.

Connector Combinations

Cables are offered with various electrical connections, including Molded Quick Disconnect or Subminiature Thermocouple Connectors. The connector chart defines 18 distinct combinations for Connector #1 and Connector #2:

• Standard Size: OST (male) and OSTW (female).
• Subminiature Size: SMP (male) and SMPW (female).
• Termination Options: Stripped leads or Spade lugs.

To order, the specific connector combination code from 1 to 18 must be specified. For example, Code 2 provides an OSTW female to OST male connection, while Code 9 connects SMPW female to SMP male.

• N Calibration: Available upon request or online configuration.

Key Product Differences

The series is differentiated primarily by the cable jacket material and retraction mechanism, which dictate the model prefix:

• TEC Series (PFA Coated Wire): Designed for applications requiring PFA insulation. Models include TECJ10-(*), TECK25-(*) etc., covering 3 m (10') and 7.5 m (25') lengths.
• GEC Series (Glass Braid Wire): Features glass overbraid stranded wire construction for high-temperature or rugged environments. Models include GECJ10-(*), GECK25-(*) etc., matching the length options of the TEC series.
• REC Series (Retractable Cables): Designed with a retractable mechanism that expands 5:1 from its stored state. Available in shorter retracted lengths of 30 cm (1') and 120 cm (4'). Models include RECJ1-(*), RECK4-(*) etc.
