Supported Applications
The Omega HPG Series consists of Surface Spot Heaters designed to provide controlled direct heat with a small footprint. These natural convection heating elements are intended for applications requiring precise heat on key components where space is limited.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient and process temperature range of -30 to 70°C (-22 to 158°F). Storage conditions support a wider range from -40 to 70°C (-40 to 158°F). The maximum body temperature is rated at 170°C (338°F) when the ambient temperature is 25°C. Nominal power output varies by model, ranging from 8 W to 13 W measured at an ambient of 10°C (50°F).
Electrical protection class II and Ingress Protection IP20 are specified for these units.
Configuration Options
The HPG Series offers a compact design with versatile mounting options, featuring fixing via a flange with 2 holes for screw mounting (fasteners not provided). The series supports multiple voltage inputs and power outputs across three distinct length configurations:
- Power Output: Available in nominal ratings of 8 W, 10 W, or 13 W at 10°C (50°F).
- Voltage Options: Configurable for 115 Vac, 230 Vac, or 24 Vdc.
- Dimensions: Cross-section is fixed at 28 x 7 mm (1.10 x 0.28 in). Length options include 30 mm (1.18 in), 50 mm (1.97 in), and 60 mm (2.36 in).
- Electrical Connection: Equipped with Silicone AWG20 lead wire, 300 mm (11.8") length, terminated with Splice crips 6 mm (0.24").
- Weight Range: Units weigh between 17 g (0.60 oz) and 29 g (1.02 oz), depending on the model.
The series holds CE, UL, and RoHS approvals.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the HPG Series are distinguished by their nominal power output, physical length, and input voltage. The 8 W models (HPG-33xx) feature a 30 mm (1.18 in) body; the 10 W models (HPG-34xx) utilize a 50 mm (1.97 in) body; and the 13 W models (HPG-35xx) incorporate a 60 mm (2.36 in) body.
Within each power/length group, specific model numbers denote the input voltage: suffixes ending in '15' indicate 115 Vac, '25' indicates 230 Vac, and '75' indicates 24 Vdc (e.g., HPG-3315 is an 8 W unit at 115V).
