Supported Applications
The Omega ARMT0-3 series is a medium weight oil immersion heater designed with an integral thermostat for temperature control. The rugged three-element steel construction supports low watt density operation at 15 W/in², specifically configured for heating applications involving medium weight oils.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The ARMT0-3 series operates within a power range of 3 to 9 kW and is supplied with 240V or 480V, 3 phase. The heater features three available temperature ranges: T1 (0 to 100°F), T2 (60 to 250°F), and T3 (200 to 550°F). Control is provided by a bulb and capillary type thermostat.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable options for enclosure type, temperature range, voltage, and wattage. Key selection parameters include:
- Enclosure Types: E1 General Purpose (NEMA-1 rated) or E2 moisture resistant/explosion resistant.
- Process Connection: 2½ NPT Steel screw plug fitting.
- Sheath Material: 0.475" diameter steel with a three-element construction.
- Voltage Options: Models are available for 208 Vac, 240 Vac, or 480 Vac (inserted into the model number).
- Approvals and Certifications: UL Listed (General Purpose Enclosures with T1/T2 Temps), CSA Certified (T1, T2, or T3 for General Purpose; NRTL/C certified for E2 enclosures). Made in USA.
Note: The integral thermostat functions as a temperature control only and is not a fail-safe device. An approved pressure and/or temperature control should be used with these heaters to assure safe operation.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the ARMT0-3 series are distinguished by wattage, enclosure rating, voltage, and thermostat range:
- Wattage Levels: Available in 3 kW, 4 kW, 5 kW, 6 kW, 7.5 kW, and 9 kW configurations.
- Enclosure Ratings: E1 models feature a General Purpose NEMA-1 rated enclosure; E2 models provide moisture resistant/explosion resistant construction designed to contain electrical wiring according to National Electric Code standards.
- Temperature Ranges: Model numbers include suffixes T1, T2, or T3 corresponding to the 0–100°F, 60–250°F, and 200–550°F ranges respectively. Models without a temperature suffix in certain configurations may require specification of the range.
- Voltage Configuration: Model numbers containing "240" are only available at that voltage; other voltages (208 or 480) must be inserted into the model number as specified.
