Supported Applications
The Mercoid® Series 3100D is a microprocessor-based smart differential pressure transmitter designed for draft measurement and level applications. It features flexible pressure calibration with push-button configuration or remote setup via HART® Communication, eliminating the need for a field calibrator during initial configuration.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series 3100D delivers an accuracy of ±0.075% FS (@ 20°C) with a response time of 0.12 s. It operates within ambient temperatures ranging from -40 to 185°F (-40 to 85°C) without the LCD module, or -22 to 176°F (-30 to 80°C) when equipped with an LCD module. The process temperature range is specified as -40 to 248°F (-40 to 120°C). Wetted materials include 316L SS and fluoroelastomer, compatible with gases, steam, liquids, or vapors.
Configuration Options
The series supports a wide range of measurement spans configurable via the model chart:
- Differential pressure ranges: 0 to 6 in w.c., 0 to 30 in w.c., 0 to 150 in w.c., and 0 to 750 in w.c.
- Higher differential pressure ranges: 0 to 100 psi, 0 to 300 psi, and 0 to 1000 psi.
The transmitter provides a 4-20 mA output with HART® Communication. Load resistance requirements are 0 to 1500 Ω for operation and 250 to 500 Ω specifically for HART® communication. Power supply is 11.9–45 VDC.
Configuration & Options
- Housing: NEMA 4X (IP66) explosion-proof enclosure rated for Class I, Div I, Groups A, B, C and D; also suitable for Class II/III environments per FM Certification details in the manual.
- Electrical Connection: Two 1/2" female NPT conduit with screw terminals.
- Process Connections: Standard 1/4" female NPT is listed on the data sheet, while the model number guide indicates configurable process connections and diaphragm seals (e.g., LECS2A).
- LCD Display: Available as an option for local readout of units, %, mA, or rotated display modes.
- Accessories: Stainless steel angle type bracket (A-630), flat type bracket (A-631), flanged 3-valve block manifold (BBV-1F), and flanged 5-valve block manifold (BBV-22F).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the Series 3100D are distinguished by calibrated span ranges, approval types, process connections, diaphragm seal configurations, mounting options, and the inclusion of an LCD display. The model number structure follows the format: 3100D - <RANGE> - <APPROVAL> - <PROCESS CONNECTION>, allowing for specific customization including extension lengths, diaphragm materials, fill fluids, and capillary lengths.
The series offers models with or without an LCD module. Models designated with "-LCD" provide local display capabilities, while standard models rely on HART® communication devices (such as DevCom2000 software) for configuration of zero/trim, units, range, dampening, and decimal settings.
