Supported Applications

The Omega PR-11 series consists of small, rugged Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) probes with a 1/16" diameter. These high-accuracy sensors are designed for general-purpose use in liquid and air applications. The product overview specifies that the epoxy-sealed end should not be immersed directly into liquid environments.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The PR-11 series utilizes wire-wound 100 Ω, Class 'A' DIN Platinum Elements per IEC 751 with a temperature coefficient of alpha = 0.00385 Ω/Ω/°C. The measurement range is -200 to 600°C (Transition and Cable to 260°C Max). Accuracy is specified as ±0.15°C @ 0°C under IEC CLASS A standards.

Wetted materials include a 300 Series stainless steel probe, transition, and spring. The cable construction features nickel-plated copper with PFA insulation and a PFA jacketed exterior.

Configuration Options

The series supports configurable lead wire constructions of 2-, 3-, or 4-wire styles. Standard dimensions include sheath lengths from 6" to 24", though the part number builder allows for custom probe lengths in inches or millimeters.

Termination and Connector Options

Standard electrical connections feature stripped lead wires, but optional connectors are available:

  • Miniature Connector MTP-U-M (MTP)
  • Heavy-Duty Connector OTP-U-M (OTP)
  • Connectors for Handheld Instruments TA3F - TA4F
  • Connector for HH804U meter HH804-CONNECTOR

Element and Coating Options

The series offers element resistances of 100 Ω or 1000 Ω at 0°C. Additional options include PFA coating availability, optional stainless steel overbraid for longer leads, and various wire configurations.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the PR-11 series are distinguished by lead count (2-wire, 3-wire, or 4-wire), element resistance at 0°C (100 Ω vs. 1000 Ω), sheath length, and termination type. The part number format follows: PR-11 - <Number of Leads> - <Element Resistance at 0°C> - <Sheath Diameter> - <Probe Length> - <Temperature Coefficient> - <Termination Options>. For example, a model may be designated PR-11-2-100-1/16-12-E-TA3F.
