The Omega SSHB Series consists of rugged, low-cost flexible heating blankets constructed from OMEGALUX® silicone rubber. Designed for efficient process temperature control and freeze protection, these heaters are intended for use on both flat and curved surfaces. Documented applications include:

Operating Conditions & Performance
The SSHB Series features a constant low watt density of 2.5 W/in² with a maximum exposure temperature of 232°C (450°F). The blankets are moisture and chemical resistant, offering dielectric strength rated at 2000V. Standard configurations include a 4' long, 16 AWG silicone rubber insulated lead wire.
Power supply options support 120, 240, or 480 Vac (contact Omega for 480V models). Wattage ratings available in the series are 180 W, 360 W, 720 W, and 1440 W. The heaters operate at a specific voltage ±10%.
Configuration Options
The SSHB Series is configurable across five standard sizes: 6 x 12", 6 x 24", 12 x 12", 12 x 24", and 24 x 24". Models are available with or without optional pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA), indicated by the "-P" suffix in the model number.
Installation accessories include:
- Junction boxes
- Wire ties and mounting hardware
- SRL-CB conduit bracket for additional cost
- RTV adhesive sealant (ordered separately)
Key Product Differences
The SSHHB Series model number follows the format: SSHB-<dimensions>-<watts>-<volts>-P. For example, a 6 x 12" heater with 180 W at 120 VAC without adhesive is ordered as SSHB-612-180-120; the same unit with pressure-sensitive adhesive is SSHB-612-180-120-P. The series carries CE approval.
Installation notes specify that power lead wires are non-polarized, allowing either wire to connect to neutral or hot, while a third green (or green-striped) ground wire must be connected if applicable. Heaters should not be operated without an appropriate heat sink or temperature control device.
