Supported Applications
The Omega RMJ and RSJ series consists of Round Hole Panel Jack Connectors designed for mounting standard or miniature thermocouple connectors in panels. These panel jacks accept industry-standard connectors, featuring polarity keying and color-coding to ensure correct sensor alignment.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The RMJ-RSJ series is constructed from glass-filled nylon with an ambient operating temperature rating of -29 to 180°C (-20 to 356°F). A note in the documentation indicates that minor discoloration of the connector may occur between 150°C (302°F) and 180°C (356°F), though electrical properties are not affected.
Configuration Options
The series is available in two primary sizes: Type RSJ for Standard Size Connectors and Type RMJ for Miniature Size Connectors. Both types support a range of thermocouple alloy codes with specific color-coding:
- Type J, K, T, E, R/S, U, N: Available in both standard (RSJ) and miniature (RMJ) sizes.
- Type C: Available only in the miniature size (RMJ).
Each connector is offered with either a square or round face bezel. The series includes front mount hardware and free mounting nuts as standard accessories. Optional supplies include dust caps (SPJ-CAP for standard, MPJ-CAP for miniature) sold in packages of 12, and extra mounting nuts available in packages of five.
Dimensional specifications are defined by size:
- Standard Size: Bezel diameter is 28.7 mm (1.13"); cutout diameter is 22.4 mm (0.88").
- Miniature Size: Bezel diameter is 20.6 mm (0.81"); cutout diameter is 16.0 mm (0.63").
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between the RSJ standard size and RMJ miniature size families based on connector compatibility and physical dimensions. Model numbers follow the format RSJ-- or RMJ--, where face type is designated as 'S' for square or 'R' for round.
The miniature RMJ series supports an additional alloy code, Type C (Red), which is not listed in the standard RSJ configuration. Both sizes utilize glass-filled nylon construction and share the same ambient temperature rating of -29 to 180°C (-20 to 356°F).
