Supported Applications
The Omega DP3600, DP3700, and DP3800 series are micro-processor based intelligent monitors designed to display process variables derived from analog inputs. These units perform multiple tasks including monitoring temperature, pressure, or flow signals converted via configurable scaling.
- Process variable monitoring with red 7-segment LED display
- Six limit alarms (four process limits and two timers)
- Rate limiting and deviation rate limiting functions
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series accepts standard analog inputs including 4 - 20 mA, 10 - 50 mA, 0 - 5 VDC, and 0 - 10 VDC. Input impedance is specified as 100 OHMS for 4-20 ma, 40 ohms for 10-50 ma, and 1 megohm for voltage input.
- A/D Conversion: 4½ Digit A/D conversion using a dual slope integrating converter.
- Conversion Rate: Seven conversions per second typical.
- Display Resolution: Red 7-segment LED with 0.39 inch (10mm) digit height, including negative polarity and over-range indication (HELP).
- Power Requirements: Supports 120 VAC - 60Hz, 240 VAC - 50Hz, or 7.5 VDC - 12VDC @ 900 ma.
- Ambient Temperature: Typical operation at 25°C.
Housing and Dimensions
The enclosure is constructed from extruded aluminum. Physical dimensions are listed as follows:
- Case: 3.60" x 1.75" x 7"
- Bezel size: 4.40" x 2.25" x 0.45"
Configuration Options
The series offers extensive programmability for scaling, offset, tare, and alarm modes (latching/non-latching). Configuration options include:
- Scaling: Programmable from 1-30000 units.
- Offset: Programmable from 0-30000 units.
- Tare: Programmable and equal to the value of programmed scale.
Outputs and Alarms
The system supports six limit alarms, including four process limits and two timer limits. Output options include optional relays or open collector drives.
- Relay Outputs (Optional): Single pole double throw; rated 1 Ampere @ 28VDC or 0.5 amp @ 120VAC, resistive.
- Open Collector Output: Up to six outputs available at 5vdc @ 50ma each.
External Control and Programming
An external low level signal applied to the HOLD pin on the rear connector initiates the hold function. The system includes a passcode for setup mode (3254) with three attempts allowed before exiting.
- Program Limits: Includes Process Limit 1-4, Setup limits for Rate/Process and Deviation, Timer 1 & 2 Limits, Deadband settings, and Normally open/close configurations.
- System Programming: Configurable Display Options, Flash Time, Engineering units, Program Setpoint, Remote Tare/Hold, Input Type, and Input Range.
Key Product Differences
The series encompasses the DP3600, DP3700, and DP3800 model families. Specific variants such as DP3600-1-3, DP3600-2, DP3700-2-3, and DP3800-3 represent specific configurations within the series envelope. The documentation notes that these are programmable process monitors capable of displaying process variables, though it does not provide a model number decomposition chart or ordering guide to explicitly define the functional differences between the base DP3600/DP3700/DP3800 models and their suffixed variants.
- Base Models: DP3600, DP3700, DP3800
- Suffixed Variants: Include options such as -1-3, -2, -2-3, and -3.
