Supported Applications
The Omega PX265 series consists of rugged industrial pressure transducers designed for general process monitoring. These units feature a solid-state design with three field-selectable ranges in one unit, allowing engineers to configure the measurement span without replacing hardware. The product overview identifies these as industrial-grade sensors suitable for applications requiring robust enclosure protection and selectable output voltages.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PX265 operates within an ambient and process temperature range of -18 to 82°C (0 to 180°F). Accuracy is specified as ±1.0% FS, encompassing linearity, repeatability, and hysteresis. Thermal effects are rated at 0.3% FS/°C (±0.025% FS/°F) over the compensated temperature range of -18 to 82°C (0 to 180°F). The transducer withstands a proof pressure of 300% FS and has a burst pressure rating of 500% FS.
Electrical excitation requires 12 to 35 Vdc. The unit is housed in an enamel-coated, 18 GA steel enclosure rated NEMA 4 (IP65), providing dust-proof and splashproof protection. Wetted parts are constructed from 316L stainless steel.
Configuration Options
The series supports three distinct model configurations based on the maximum pressure range, each offering a set of selectable low, medium, and high ranges:
- PX265-100G5V: Selectable ranges of 0 to 100 psig, 0 to 50 psig, or 0 to 25 psig.
- PX265-300G5V: Selectable ranges of 0 to 300 psig, 0 to 150 psig, or 0 to 75 psig.
- PX265-500G5V: Selectable ranges of 0 to 500 psig, 0 to 250 psig, or 0 to 125 psig.
The output signal is user-selectable between 0 to 5 Vdc and 0 to 10 Vdc. The pressure port utilizes a 1/8-27 NPT female connection. Electrical termination is provided via a screw terminal block compatible with wire sizes up to the specified limit.
Key Product Differences
The PX265 series differs from the related PX264 family primarily in output signal type and excitation requirements. While both share similar enclosure ratings, wetted materials (316L stainless steel), and selectable range architectures, the PX265 provides a 0 to 5 Vdc or 0 to 10 Vdc user-selectable output with an excitation of 12 to 35 Vdc. In contrast, the PX264 offers a 4-20 mA (2 wire) output and accepts 12 to 40 Vdc excitation.
Within the PX265 series itself, variations are defined by the maximum pressure range of the model number suffix (-100G5V, -300G5V, or -500G5V), which dictates the specific set of three selectable ranges available for that unit.
