Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series EDA Electronic Pressure Controller integrates a pressure gage, two switches, and an optional transmitter into a single unit. Designed for indoor and outdoor use with weatherproof housing (IP65), the series is suitable for process control, compressor control, filter status monitoring, duct or building static pressure, and damper and fan control.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series EDA measures compatible liquids and gases across ranges from 0-20 psig to 0-3000 psig. Accuracy is specified as ±1% of FS including linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability for both the indicator and transmitter. Stability is rated at < ±2% of FS per year.
Operating conditions include an ambient temperature range of 20 to 140°F (-6.6 to 60°C) and a process temperature limit of 0 to 176°F (-18 to 80°C). The compensated temperature limits are 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C), with a thermal effect of ±0.05% of FS/°F. Humidity ratings support 0 to 95% RH up to 104°F (40°C) non-condensing, and 10 to 50% at 140°F (60°C) non-condensing.
Pressure limits are defined as 1.5 x range for ranges up to 6,000 psi; the document also notes an 8,000 psi range with a 10,000 psi limit in specific contexts. The display updates every 600 ms when damping is set to 1.
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable options for housing style, process connections, conduit entries, measurement ranges, and output signals.
- Housing: Weatherproof (W) with a polycarbonate or glass-filled plastic enclosure meeting NEMA 4X / IP65 ratings. Note: The IP65 rating is not evaluated by UL.
- Process Connections: Available in 1/4" male NPT, 1/4" BSPT male, or 7/16" SAE configurations.
- Electrical Entry: Removable terminal blocks with two 1/2" female NPS conduit connections (E1).
- Ranges: Configurable from 0-20 psig through 0-3000 psig.
- Transmitter Outputs: Options include None, 4-20 mA, 1-5 VDC, 0-5 VDC, 1-6 VDC, and 0-10 VDC (direct or reverse output selection). Minimum excitation for transmitter operation is 14 VDC.
- Switching: Two SPDT relays with an electrical rating of 5A @ 120/240 VAC, 1A @ 30 VDC. Set points are adjustable from 0-100% of FS with manual or automatic reset.
- Power Supply: Standard models operate on 12-28 VDC/VAC (50/60 Hz), capable of functioning at 8 VDC for 45 seconds. The T5 option requires 14-30 VDC/VAC, and the -HV option supports 120-240 VAC.
- Wetted Materials: 316 L SS.
