Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series 629C Wet/Wet Differential Pressure Transmitter monitors differential pressure of compatible gases and liquids. The series is designed for applications involving flow elements, coils, heat exchangers, chillers, filters, and pumps.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series 629C employs dual pressure sensors to convert pressure changes into an output signal with ±0.5% FS accuracy (includes linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability). The transmitter operates within a process temperature range of 0 to 200°F (-18 to 93°C) and features a response time of 400 msec. Stability is rated at ±1% FS/yr with an average thermal effect of 0.04%/°F (0.072%/°C). The enclosure meets NEMA 4X (IP66) weatherproof construction standards.
Measurement ranges span from low differential pressures to high bar values, including:
- Psi differential: 0 to 5 psid through 0 to 500 psid
- Bar differential: 0 to 0.5 bar through 0 to 30 bar
Working and over-pressure limits vary by range number; for example, the 01 range (0 to 5 psid) lists a working pressure of 10 psi and an over-pressure limit of 50 psi. Pressures exceeding the working pressure limit may cause a calibration shift of up to ±3% of full scale.
Configuration Options
The series supports multiple configuration options for housing, process connections, electrical interfaces, signal outputs, and accessories.
Housing & Mounting
- Conduit Housing: Standard NEMA 4X (IP66) conduit housing (-CH).
- Remote Sensor Options: Available with remote sensors and shielded or armored cables in lengths of 10' (-R1), 20' (-R2, -R5), or specific armored configurations (-R6). The NEMA 4X rating is maintained on the housing for non-LCD models; LCD indication options maintain NEMA 4X on sensors and housing.
Process Connections & Wetted Materials
- Connections: 1/4" male or female NPT, and 1/4" male or female BSPT.
- Materials (Without Valve): 316, 316L SS.
- Materials (With Valve Option): Buna-N, silicone grease, PTFE, brass 360, copper, and reinforced copolymer.
Electrical & Signal Outputs
- Power Supply: 2-wire: 10-35 VDC; 3-wire: 13-35 VDC or isolated 16-33 VAC (reverse polarity protected).
- Signal Output: 4-20 mA (S1) or field selectable voltage outputs of 0-5, 1-5, 0-10, or 2-10 VDC (S3).
- Load Resistance: Current output: 0 to 1250 Ω max; Voltage output: Minimum load resistance = 5 kΩ.
Options & Accessories
- Valves: Optional 3-way valve (-3V) for zeroing without removing the transmitter. Note: The -3V option is only available with the -P2 process connection, and over-pressure of all models with a 3-way valve is limited to 100 psi.
- Display: Optional field-upgradeable LCD indication (4-1/2 digit).
- Certification & Identification: Factory calibration certificate, NIST traceable certificate, and aluminum tag options are available.
Key Product Differences
The Series 629C model number structure follows the format: Series - Range - Housing - Process Connection - Electrical Connection - Signal Output - Options. Key distinctions include:
- Housing Codes: Differentiate between standard conduit housings and remote sensor configurations with varying cable lengths (10', 20') and shielding types.
- Process Connections: Selection of male/female NPT or BSPT threads determines compatibility with the optional 3-way valve, which is restricted to female NPT (-P2).
- Signal Output Codes: S1 designates a fixed 4-20 mA output, while S3 provides field-selectable voltage ranges.
