Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series 616KX Differential Pressure Transmitter is designed for OEM applications and HVAC monitoring. The series senses the pressure of air and non-combustible, compatible gases to provide standard output signals for control systems. Documented application areas include air handlers, duct pressure measurement, variable air volume (VAV) systems, and filter monitoring.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series 616KX operates within an ambient temperature range of -4 °F to 159 °F (-20 °C to 70 °C). Accuracy options are available at ±0.25 % FSO, ±0.50 % FSO, ±1.0 % FSO, and ±2.0 % FSO depending on the model code (616KX-025 through 616KX-200). Stability is rated at < ±1 % / year FSO with a thermal effect of 0.02 % FS / °F (0.036 % FS / °C).

Pressure limits vary by range: 3.6 psig for ranges from 0 in w.c. to 1 in w.c. (25 Pa to 250 Pa; 2.5 mm w.c. to 25 mm w.c.) and 6 psig for ranges from 0 in w.c. to 40 in w.c. (500 Pa to 10000 Pa; 50 mm w.c. to 1000 mm w.c.). The enclosure rating is NEMA 1 (IP20), and the unit weight is 1.8 oz (51 g).

Measurement Ranges

The series supports a wide range of differential pressure spans, including:

• 0 in w.c. to 0.1 in w.c. (25 Pa, 2.5 mm w.c.) through 0 in w.c. to 40 in w.c. (10000 Pa, 1000 mm w.c.).

Configuration Options

The Series 616KX offers configurable outputs, process connections, and calibration options. The transmitter features an edge-mounted push-button for zero adjustment without tools or opening the enclosure.

Output Signals & Power Requirements

• 2-Wire Output: 4 mA to 20 mA with a power supply of 10 Vdc to 36 Vdc. Loop resistance is 0 Ohms to 1250 Ohms.
• 3-Wire Voltage Outputs (Field Selectable): Options include 0 V to 10 V, 0 V to 5 V, 2 V to 10 V, and 1 V to 5 V. Power requirements are 17 Vdc to 36 Vdc or isolated 21.6 Vac to 33 Vac.
• Current Consumption: 21 mA max continuous.

Process Connections & Mounting

• Standard Ports: Barbed, male ports for flexible tubing with IDs of 1/8 in, 3/16 in, 1/4 in, 5 mm, and 6 mm.
• Threaded Options: Optional 1/8 in female NPT or 1/8 in female BSPT threads are available via model options (-NPT, -BSPT).
• Mounting: Designed for 35 mm DIN rail (side and back) mounting. Wall-mount holes accommodate #6 screws with a spacing of 1/4 in [6 mm] T 1/8 in [3 mm].

Range codes correspond to specific spans, such as 00 for 0 in w.c. to 0.1 in w.c., up through 12 for 0 in w.c. to 40 in w.c. Units of measure are selectable via suffixes: -IN (Inches of water column), -PA (Pascals), or -MM (Millimeters of water column).
