Supported Applications
The Omega HJMQSS series comprises Quick Disconnect Thermocouple Probe Assemblies featuring High Temperature Miniature Connectors. Designed for high-temperature applications, these probes utilize environmentally friendly cadmium-free liquid crystal polymer connector bodies rated up to 260°C (500°F). The assemblies provide color-coded terminations identified with calibration letter codes and are available in both Standard and Metric configurations.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series meets or exceeds Special Limits of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2: Tolerance Class 1. Connector body temperature ratings extend to 260°C (500°F). Probes are supplied with sheath diameters ranging from 0.010 to 0.125 inches in Standard configurations, or 0.25 to 3.00 mm in Metric configurations. Standard lengths include 6" and 12" for inch-based models, while metric options offer 150 mm and 300 mm.
Configuration Options
The HJMQSS series supports a broad envelope of thermocouple alloys, sheath materials, junction types, and dimensional configurations. Selection parameters include:
- Thermocouple Alloys: Iron-Constantan (Type J), Chromega™-Alomega™ (Type K), Chromega™-Constantan (Type E), and Copper-Constantan (Type T).
- Junction Types: Grounded ('G'), Exposed ('E'), or Ungrounded ('U').
- Sheath Materials: 304 SS, Inconel, and XL Sheaths for highest temperature and stability (change 'SS' or 'IN' to 'XL' in model number).
- Connector Configuration: Probes of 1 mm (0.40") diameter and larger are supplied with the connector molded to the probe; smaller sizes feature a removable connector.
- Accessories: Mating connectors, cable clamps, and safety clips are sold separately. Cal-5 is available as an option.
To order with Inconel sheaths, change 'SS' in the model number to 'IN'. To order with 321 SS sheaths, change 'SS' to '321SS'. Other lengths are available upon consultation with Sales.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between Standard (inch) and Metric configurations in model numbering. Model numbers follow the pattern --, where specific prefixes denote alloy type (e.g., HJMQ for Type J, HKMQ for Type K). The 'XL' designation indicates a specialized sheath material option available at additional cost.
Standard accessories vary by thermocouple type; mating connector model numbers include HMPW-J-F, HMPW-K-F, HMPW-E-F, and HMPW-T-F. Cable clamps (PCLM) and safety clips (SMCL) are listed as compatible components across the series.
