Supported Applications

The Omega TQ201/TQM201 Series comprises in-line mount reaction torque sensors designed to be mounted directly to the torque-producing element. These non-rotating, shaft-mount sensors are engineered for measuring the starting torque of motors.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series delivers high accuracy with an Accuracy Class of ±0.2% FSO and Repeatability of ±0.03% FSO. Linearity is specified at ±0.15% FSO, while Hysteresis remains within ±0.10% FSO. The sensors operate across a temperature range of -54 to 107°C (-65 to 225°F), with a Compensated Temp Range from 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Thermal effects are limited to ±0.005% FSO/°F for Zero and ±0.005% rdg/°F for Span.

Electrical performance includes an Output of 2 mV/V with Input Resistance and Output Resistance both at a minimum of 350 Ω. The sensors require an Excitation voltage of 10 Vdc, up to a maximum of 15V. Mechanical limits include a Safe Overload rating of 150% of capacity and an Ultimate Overload limit of 300% of capacity.

Configuration Options

The TQ201/TQM201 series is available in standard (inch-lb/oz-in) and metric (N-m) models covering reaction torque ranges from 0-25 oz-inch to 0-1000 inch-lb, or equivalently 0-0.18 N-m to 0-113 N-m.

The series distinguishes between standard and metric model families. The TQ201 models utilize inch-pound units (oz-in or in-lb), while the TQM201 models correspond to Newton-meter ranges.

  • TQ201 Series: Ranges include 0-25 oz-inch, 0-30 oz-inch, up through 0-1000 inch-lb (model suffixes such as -Z for ounce-inches and numeric values for inch-pounds).
  • TQM201 Series: Metric equivalents ranging from 0-0.175 N-m to 0-113 N-m.
