Supported Applications

The Omega SCE-ELST Series consists of NEMA Type 4X, 304 stainless steel slope top wall mount enclosures designed for washdown and corrosive applications. These electrical control panels are engineered to house electrical controls, instruments, and equipment in areas subject to regular hosing or very wet conditions. The series is specifically noted for use in food and beverage industries where protection from dust, dirt, oil, and strong jets of water is required.

Key application environments include:

• Indoor/outdoor weatherproof applications
• Corrosive environments requiring chemical resistance
• Facilities with regular washdown procedures (hosed down areas)
• Sites needing protection from strong water jets and particulate ingress

Operating Conditions & Performance

The SCE-ELST Series provides robust environmental sealing through a 15° sloping top design, continuously welded seams ground smooth, and an oil and water-resistant gasket. The enclosures meet the following industry standards for ingress protection:

• NEMA Type: 4, 4X, 12 & Type 13
• UL Listed Type: 4, 4X, 12
• CSA Type: 4, 4X, 12
• IEC 60529: IP 66

The enclosure body is constructed from 0.075" thick 304 stainless steel with a #4 brushed finish on all exterior surfaces. Optional panels are available in powder-coated white.

Dimensional Envelope

The series offers a wide range of sizes to accommodate various control panel requirements:

• Height (A): 16 to 60 inch
• Width (B): 12 to 36 inch
• Depth (C): 8 to 16 inch

Specific model weights range from 8 kg (18 lb) for the smallest unit up to 82 kg (180 lb) for larger configurations.

Latching Configuration by Height

• < 24.00" height: One latch centered on door
• ≥ 24.00" and < 40.00" height: Two latches on door
• ≥ 40.00" height: Three latches on door (omit center latch top/bottom if door width is < 30.00")

Configuration Options

The SCE-ELST Series supports configurable dimensions and optional sub-panel integration to meet specific installation needs.

Housing Features

• Material: 0.075" Thick 304 Stainless Steel
• Finish: #4 brushed finish on exterior; optional powder-coated white panels
• Hinges: Stainless steel concealed hinges
• Latches: Black quarter-turn latches (opened or closed with a screwdriver)
• Gasketing: Oil and water-resistant gasket with flange trough collar around all sides of door opening
• Mounting: Wall mount via holes in the back; includes mounting hardware, sealing washers, and hole plugs
• Interior Features: Removable print pocket, ground stud on door and body, removable and interchangeable doors

Sub-Panel Options

The enclosures include collar studs for mounting optional sub-panels. Sub-panel dimensions are measured from the inside of the door.

• Flat Sub-Panels: C = 0.32" thickness allowance
• Bent Sub-Panels: C - 0.18" thickness allowance
• Materials: Stainless steel (e.g., SCE-XXPYY) or galvanized options available in the variant list.

Key Product Differences

The series is differentiated by physical dimensions and sub-panel compatibility. Model numbers follow the format SCE-<HEIGHT>EL<WIDTH><DEPTH>SSST, where height, width, and depth correspond to specific inch values (e.g., SCE-16EL1208SSST denotes a 16" x 12" x 8" enclosure).

Variants include both the main enclosures and corresponding sub-panel models. For example:

• Enclosure Models: SCE-16EL1208SSST through SCE-60EL3616SSST
• Matching sizes such as SCE-16P12, SCE-24P20GALV (galvanized), and others listed in the "To Order" table.

The series includes a 1-year warranty and is RoHS compliant. No operating temperature or pressure ratings are specified for these enclosures beyond their NEMA/IP ingress protection classifications.
