Supported Applications

The Omega SCE-PPL Series consists of NEMA4X electrical enclosures constructed from 304 stainless steel, designed to house electrical and electronic controls, instruments, and equipment. These cabinets are specified for areas subject to regular hosing down or very wet conditions, providing protection against dust, dirt, oil, and strong jets of water. The series serves as a solution for weatherproof applications; for outdoor installations, the use of a drip shield is recommended.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The enclosure body is fabricated from 0.75" thick 304 stainless steel and features an oil and water-resistant gasket with a flange trough collar around all sides of the door opening to ensure sealing integrity. The series meets multiple environmental protection standards, including NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12, and Type 13; UL Listed for Types 3R, 4, 4X, and 12; CSA for Types 4, 4X, and 12; and IEC 60529 IP66. Available overall dimensions range from a height of 24" to 60", a width of 20" to 36", and a depth of 10" to 12".

Configuration Options

The SCE-PPL Series offers configurable mounting, door mechanisms, and accessory options tailored for industrial control environments. Key features include:

• Housing & Mounting: Wall-mountable via holes in the back of the enclosure; includes ground studs on both the door and body.
• Door Mechanism: Features stainless steel concealed hinges, removable and interchangeable doors with a 3-point latching mechanism. Black zinc die-cast keylocking/padlocking handles are standard.
• Internal Configuration: Includes a removable print pocket and collar studs for mounting optional sub-panels.
• Included Hardware: Mounting hardware, sealing washers, and hole plugs are provided with the enclosure.

The series supports specific model configurations defined by height (A), width (B), and depth (C). For example, models such as SCE-24EL2010SSLPPPL provide a 24" x 20" x 10" footprint. Optional sub-panels are available to match enclosure dimensions, with specific model numbers like SCE-24P20 for the 24" height variant.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series differ primarily by physical dimensions and corresponding accessory compatibility:

• Dimensions & Depth: Enclosures with heights of 24" are available in a 10" depth, while models ranging from 30" to 60" in height utilize a 12" depth.
• Latching Configuration: The center latch is omitted on the top and bottom of the door when the door width is less than 30".
• Handle Positioning (X Dimension): When enclosure height is ≤ 42", dimension X equals 5.5"; for heights greater than 42", dimension X equals 6.75".
• Drip Shields: Separate drip shield accessories are offered in widths matching the enclosure: SCE-DS20SS (20"), SCE-DS24SS (24"), SCE-DS30SS (30"), and SCE-DS36SS (36").
